I should be putting my hand on the stove for playing maple today, going on my mules to collect the Hot Time items. It's pointless, stupid and I'm not accomplishing anything. Everyday, I suffer more and more. This game lost its sense of accomplishment that it used to have and the community is summarized by independent soloing/leeching.

Every time I realize what I have in this game makes me return to it even though everything I have acquired has been transmitted to real life situations. This game is pretty much long gone and an empty shell used to burn my free time when I can be doing better things. It's sad that we sometimes play this game to fulfill our own predispositions without fully assessing how much fun we are actually having with this game. I don't know, just my 2 cents about this game. I won't regret this I am sure.

Zuruzuka Wrote:I hope that everyone leaves the cycle since a this is merely an illusion saying that you can still grow as a mapler, but deep down, this game has fallen and is way past its expiration date. My goal would be to help every individual quit. I have lost the true meaning of having fun with this game and there's no point in continuing.

I am sorry if I come off as rude, but you simply sound like you're whining.
You're making it sound like you just got out of a really bad real-life relationship with a real person, not a video game. And if you took this game that seriously then it is for the best that you quit and you're rid of it.
But, could you lighten up your tone a little? I mean, just because MapleStory was an abusive relationship to you doesn't mean it is an abusive relationship to everyone who plays it, you don't have to "save" everyone from the big bad video game.
I might sound a little sarcastic here and I am not trying to come off as rude. But after reading all your posts that is the sense I get from you. You spent 6 years, you gave 6 years of your life to something and in the end you realize it was all for nothing and now you're upset (At least, you're sounding upset.) but, once again, just because it happened that way to you doesn't mean it happens that way for everyone so you're being far too generalizing in saying that MapleStory is a soul-sucking waste of time and everyone should stay anyway from it.
I, personally, play MapleStory like any of my other video games. Every now and then I dust it off, boot it up, and play it. Then I put it back down and do something else.
Despite it being a MMORPG I treat it like I do the regular RPG's I own in the sense that I enjoy questing and collecting and training and beating what bosses I can. Because, I don't cube my gear, I don't feel the need to cube my gear, so I don't. I don't need to be the best, I don't need the glory of dealing millions of damage. Hell, my main character deals close to 1 million damage already completely unfunded and that is good enough for me.
I like to "upgrade" my equips in the simplest way possible. In which I mean if there is an event or a new area that comes out with better gear than my current I set out to get it, and once I do that is enough, I equip it, maybe use a few scrolls on it (60%'s for life, yo.)
I have been playing MapleStory the exact same way I have been playing it since beta, and I still have fun playing it to this day. But, I can pick up any of my old games (NES, SNES, Sega, N64, PS1, PS2) and play them and have fun to this day as well. Games don't "expire" for me, I remember being a little kid and playing the same 4 games for my NES because that is all I had and I had a blast beating those 4 games countless times.
Maybe there is something wrong with me if I can continue to play the same exact same game over and over again always knowing what to expect. And, yes, while you can't "beat" MapleStory I always know what to expect from it, I always know what to expect from the quests, I always know what to expect from my equips, the npcs, the training, everything. I always know what to expect, and while some people find that boring I can still have fun doing it because I guess I am a really boring person or something.
Though, with all that said, it doesn't mean I don't have my problems with MapleStory. Unlimited really irks me. But, in my current state the bosses that get changed I can't beat anyway so, lol, whatever I guess. I'll continue to play, and enjoy MapleStory in my own way since in all this time playing MapleStory in that way the game has never become unfun for me so I guess I am doing something right.
Anyway, sorry for posting a bunch of useless words in your thread. I just felt that you shouldn't go off on MapleStory and act like those that are playing it are being "abused" just as you were and I went off into some stupid wall-of-text about how I play MapleStory.
