I think the biggest problem is that you can just get "out-randomed" and it's basically no fun for your team because you ended up against a superior team comp by sheer luck. If they do anything more with ARAM, the first step is to make sure all the champions are available for everyone so you're not up against ARAM smurfs with 5 champions who just tear face on ARAM better than others and so trading is a little less stupid.
