Maybe Alice is the passively-existing human reincarnation of the Worldtree. The map they are in suspiciously looks like the inside of a treetrunk. It could be possible that the tree, or rather the tree's mind, is Alice's spirit, while it took her body from somebody who was desperately helping the WorldTree, which was Alice?
Everybody has to remind themselves: Maplestory itself has got a 'mythology', including the Overseers and Transcendences. For Mapleworld, ignoring Grandis here, we already know two Transcendences:
The Black Mage, once the Transcendence of Light, got corrupted.
Rhinne, the Goddess of Time, is a goddess, we know her from Arkarium and stuff. Transcendence of Time, because Time stuff.
Now, there's the World Tree, the Transcendence of Life. S/He/It is supposed to be immortal like Rhinne, unlike the BlackMage.
Here, we've got Alice. We got a few choices:
Alice IS the World Tree, talking to the world trough her, only owning a human body to TALK.
Alice is freely corrupted trough the World Tree. Rather not probable, because they are supposed to make stuff right, but you know. Black Mage, and stuff.
Alice was gifted the power of infinitive Life and Youth, and is now talking for the World Tree, knowing it's thoughts.
