[MENTION=1152]byakugan[/MENTION]; What you're describing sounds like certain event bosses we've had. Most notably the anniversary cake boss of old, that would spawn in a town and take a lot of strong people to kill - and the fastest looters got the spoils.
We also get that when we have a GM event where they summon major bosses in town.

Free loot works very poorly in Maple. If you live in California and have a pet, everything is yours. If you live elsewhere or don't have a looting pet, good luck getting anything.
