They're more like slot protectors. I feel like it's a legitimate method but needs more non-nx avenues to obtain.

Back in the day when your gear was screwed up, you simply got another one and tried again, or dealt with the result. Scrolling should happen long before potential cubing anyway, so you're not really losing all that much by having a few failed scrolls if you don't like it.
Plus, with 10% and 30% scrolls that are completely broken, and can somehow make gear like +40 attack shoes and eye masks, there's really no possibility of the Slot Scrolls to be legitimate helpers and instead make the game even more unfair to people who don't have a ton of money or cheat.
Well you have to also consider the reason you were flamed for that is not because it's not perfect, but rather how easy it is to make it perfect. Rather, how easy it seems to be, considering how much are available. Back in the day though you had no choice but to spam 10/30's until you passed 3/4 then you stopped. It really wouldn't be that different, just not as exaggerated. It's a little late to remove the entire method of it all together as old gear would surpass the new for at least 2 generations because of the weapon attack difference.
