How can the other Generals see this, and not think that the Black Mage would backstab them as well?

I believe the generals that stay with the Black Mage either have different motives altogether, in a hopeless situation, or are loyal out of greed for power.

I think only Akarium, Hilla, and Suu(?) are the only ones still with the Black Mage; Von Leon can go either way; Orca, Guwaru, Magnus, and Demon Slayer have all left.
