My dad was in the army for a very long time, and whenever they went abroad, they had to wear chains with their medical info on it, including blood type. Because there were emergency transfusions going on all the time, and people got mass called to donate their blood.
Not everyone is going to be in a situation like that, but it does not hurt to know your own blood type. in reality you never know WHY you might need to know it, but it could save your life or someone elses. [/drama] lol
