Locked Wrote:I haven't played Twilight Princess in 6 years so I can't say I remember most of it, just the general story and the nice double hookshots and areas/items. They were nice sure, but I still give Skyward Sword credit for turning the boring button smashing sword fights into something more exciting than that. I doubt Twilight Princess had the accuracy to do a battle system like Skyward Sword. I wanted to replay it but my brother lost my copy, so it's gone.
Motion controls in TP sucked. The gamecube version was my preferred version. But somehow, people always seem to forget that you didn't magically kill every enemy with no thought when you came across it in twilight princess. Just in stead of working out which angle you needed to swing your sword at, you needed to work out where you had to hit the enemy instead.
You did have more options in sword fights to use against enemies where necessary.
Skyward Sword had : Stab, Diagonal Left slash, Diagonal Right slash, Sideways slash, Vertical slash, Jump attack, Spin attack, Shield bash, Skyward strike. (Unique ones mostly focused on attacking at angles).
Twilight princess had: Stab, Side slash, Vertical slash, Jump attack, Spin attack, Ending Blow (Kill grounded enemies), Shield Bash, Back Slash (Roll behind enmy and stab in the back), Helm Splitter (Attack the enemies head), Mortal Draw (draw sword quickly for an instant attack), Jump Strike (Hit the ground with your sword, causing a shockwave), Great Spin Attack. 12 attacks, most of the unique ones focused on where you were hitting your enemy. It also helps that TP didn't make Shield bashing the most overpowered thing of all time.
Plus twilight princess link has the bonus of being taught directly by the spirit of the hero of time
