The limit of variation in SS battles is (If you really want to make the game easy mode) SHIELD BASH AND SWING LIKE MAD or (Slightly less easy mode) "Choose one of 4 angles to swing at". There is little to no variation in enemies throughout the entire game. Virtually every "new" enemy you meet is just a case of seeing when you need to shield bash. I much prefer TP having to find out which item (if any) you're supposed to use on an enemy, and then, if it turns out it's your sword, which of your pretty numerous sword techniques you need to use to beat them.
Not to mention, there are many fewer enemy types (54+12 unique bosses in skyward sword vs 72+20 unique bosses in twilight princess, counting reskins seperately) and the amount of enemies that clearly have shared A.I./ Weaknesses is far greater in skyward sword
I haven't played Twilight Princess in 6 years so I can't say I remember most of it, just the general story and the nice double hookshots and areas/items. They were nice sure, but I still give Skyward Sword credit for turning the boring button smashing sword fights into something more exciting than that. I doubt Twilight Princess had the accuracy to do a battle system like Skyward Sword. I wanted to replay it but my brother lost my copy, so it's gone.
As for "should I get it?", I say yeah. I don't understand why you wouldn't. Part of the reason I enjoyed it was because it was story heavy and I liked it. It felt more rewarding saving Zelda in this game because I didn't feel like I was being commanded by a princess and she was actually someone who cared about me. Link and Zelda's relationship in this game is way better than the previous ones and the storyline + cutscenes were really good here. So I don't know why you wouldn't get it other than the somewhat common complaint of controls being "too difficult and/or annoying".
