I've always said that as long as you're happy with what you believe in and it does no one harm, there should be no need for you to change it based off of what people say or what's told. There's no right Christian or wrong Christian, as long as they're respectful and happy about their costums. ^^
I myself was forcefully raised a Catholic, but since it wasn't my choice to take in those beliefs, I came to the point of absolutly detesting it. I'm happy as ever as a Atheist, and unlike most none-believers I don't bash other beliefs nor go against them. I've always told myself that whatever you believe, you'll eventually reach a point where you can reach your beliefs and it will be true (Ie. When you die you go to heaven, etc.).
So, if you're happy and you know it clap your hands? :3
