As for "leaving your cygnus character AFK as a security policy" keep in mind your cygnus is on the same account as your main. Unless you're not at all interested in the sprite skill, in which case you're already at an enormous disadvantage compared to most due to the lack of attack boost from it.
Right, however, what if the person is using '2' accounts? The main account as the Cygnus character (to afk on a rope, example), and the 2ndary account to train their.. let's say... lv 4X Brawler? I'm sure the user could hop on the high-levelled Cygnus character to help defend his Brawler.
I wouldn't see a point in using a Cygnus character to defend your 'main' 10X+ character either.
