You know, I have a theory why this works.

Google search crawlers search for "pages" that have a lot of links to them.

Each quoted post contains a small link to the original post, in the form of that little black arrow. Mass quoting the same post over and over causes search crawlers to give that post a bunch of hits by following that backlink.

I think that's how it is, anyway. I'm no expert on Google's search algorithms o-o
