Just mere moments away from Diablo NM so I can get into Hell. Been trying out the WW Barb build, and even if I'm not WWing 24/7 I'm still loving it so much. Works wonders when there's 20-30 monsters in front of me. Never running out of Fury with groups that huge.

Congrats!
/edit: I'm sick and tired of lagging like... HALF A MINUTE, den after that I juz die. Three times in 2 hours have I died because of this, and I lost count of the number of times this lag occured. No packet transmission, so I can't do anything except walk around, click some buttons, but can't do anything useful. On top of that, I have very significant rubberbanding issues that cannot be resolved simply because my connection sux.
Are there any Southperrians who farm A3 on a Demon Hunter? I can do Act 2 runs pretty easily, but A3 mobs seem to melt me no matter what the type. I just beat Ghom on Inferno mode ( which was suprisingly a lot easier than I thought ) but still I don't feel ready to farm there yet.
I know I should probably buy more resists..but not sure. Any tips and tricks? Sometimes I think I should've just rolled a Barb. But dem bewbs--
My stats with Sharp Shooter
Spoiler
Current skill setup:
- Hungering Arrow / Spray of teeth
- Elemental Arrow / Ball of lightning
- Rain of Vengeance / Flying strike
- Vault / Trail of cinders
- Smoke screen / Lingering Fog
- Preparation / Backup plan
- Sharpshooter, Steady Aim, Archery
Edit: I just swapped my +10 Disc cloak for this one, but not sure if I want to keep it.

I feel like i may need to try that route. My disintegrate wiz needs better gear to get past act 3. Beam just isnt strong enough for the last half of the game, with what i currently own.

I'm no expert on Wizzies, but from what I've heard in my recent times on the wizard forum the current working builds are crit based Archon, perma-freeze Critical Mass with either Meteor or Energy Twister and kite Blizz + Hydra.

Crit Archon is intense in terms of damage, but I dislike the lack of skills that Archon brings to the table.
If you're looking for a build that matches 1.0.3's WW/CM Wizard, the Storm Chaser rune on Energy Twister works the same, if not, better than 1.0.3 Wicked Winds.

Meteor is pretty bad vs anything that moves in my opinion, i.e. monsters. Wicked Wind needs like 40% Critical Rate and 20+ AP on Crit to work efficiently now in Act 3, otherwise, I'd recommend Blizzard Hydra. The monster types in Act 3 just don't allow a lot of wiggle room for down time from Frost Nova on such a low damage build. Give them one second unfrozen and they'll cast some environmental, or shield, or teleport, or blood star, or just fukcing runs away, etc and it's just a huge pain to get started again. That being said, if you have the AP regen, you could take both Wicked Wind and a Meteor rune to generate more DPS and have some better upkeep once Wicked Wind gets started. It's an interesting approach that I enjoy, where most Wizards take Explosive Blast as their DPS which in my opinion is too limited in range, though the damage is great with no cast time cost. Meteor lets you overcome physical obstacles that Wicked Wind likes to get blocked by, and has some nice damage to it now. It's a good AP dump and helps your upkeep with a better proc rate, but getting it started is pretty difficult since it takes so long to land and the dot only lasts 3 seconds, which is why I start with Wicked Wind.

I've been experimenting with Liquefy, and it's nice to have the extra duration available. Comet is a good rune to take too since it does more DPS and has a slow to it. I've been taking Meteor to dump AP though since I still regen it at a decent rate with packs, so Star Pact isn't too useful to me, but it's a decent choice if you want to guarantee upkeep after starting with Wicked Wind. Venom Hydra is good for added DPS, but anything could go there, and Hydras are kind of finnicky with me when I try to place them while attacking. I've never taken an escape with a CM build though since I've always found it counterproductive to have Teleport when things are locked down so easily, and Mirror Images moves you so you might lose your lockdown. Slow Time is decent for added DPS, whether it be Time Warp or Stretch Time (especially in a party).
My personal build has been stacking life regen, and I'm nearly 2k/s with Templar and Galvanizing.
I think Archon builds have a very high DPS requirement to be able to lazer everything fast enough.
EDIT: I just tried Storm Chaser, and holy pineapple what. It has a 50% Proc per tick. This has to be a bug. Every other Energy Twister rune has 12.5%, like the patch notes said.
Disregard my whole post and use Storm Chaser before they nerf it.
Storm Chaser is so broken that even my level 57 wizard decked in 20-50k AH gear can efficiently perma-freeze, perma-diamondskin, perma-explosive blast. It's ridiculous. I'm just mashing 4 skills constantly and stuff dies around me in a storm of twisters.

It has the proc rate designated for single target single hit skills like Magic Missile. It's interesting how they overlooked this, seeing as how it used to be the same as every other Twister rune before this patch. I personally think they should buff the proc rates on the other Twister, Meteor, and Blizzard runes and maybe Wicked Wind as well, just not to the rates they were before. Maybe like 16.5% on Wicked Wind and 33% on every other Twister, but not this crazy 50%/tick.
Also, according to their known bugs list, they're planning to give Hydra proc rates, though I'd expect them to be abysmally low like Blizzard's.
SC/CM wiz is a joke, I was having difficulties with my wizard on Act 2 of Hell. After spending like 300k in equips and changing to a CM/SC build I have been pounding through whites, blues and yellows like they were made of pudding. I'll probably need to change my equips into more expensive stuff with All Resists and LoH later on, but for now it's just silly.
Oh the fun I've had in fighting Diablo on Nightmare. Hell Mode unlocked, and good lord the elite packs are really evil now. My only hope now is that I've leveling pretty fast. I was a bit over 50 after Diablo was defeated. Getting Leoric's crown on Hell mode now, and I'm 51.5 already.
Also the gear seems to be getting a very noticeable jump now. Before I was finding ~100 DPS weapons. Act 1 Hell? 180-200 DPS weapons are rather common. The only problem is that they are blues, not yellows. So while they may hit hard they lack the stats to keep me alive.

If that's the case, I'd advise switching out your weapon for a higher DPS one, and simply changing up your sockets/other armor pieces accordingly in order to better survive. The flat DPS increase farrrr outweighs most of your primary/damage boosting stat bonuses on your other equips.

Swap out my 160/170 DPS axe/sword for a blue? Both weapons have ~100 LoH each, the primary reason I have them. So raw weapon damage will actually outdo my ~250 LoH?

Why don't you buy like a 500-700 DPS weap for like 100k? Or a 700+ DPS 2h for 10k if you're poor.
