MapleStory: What Could Possibly Happen?
#21
Clearly their marketing team still thinks their travel system (airship, train, elevator) in which you sit and wait to simulate travel is a novel and amazing concept and will bring in players by the thousand as something relate-able and realistic.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

That first video, just...

REJECTED!

But seriously, trying to make a move while staring at chibi sprites? Bad timing, bro. Gotta wine and dine the peach first. Also, diamonds. Because she'll pretty much have to.

Ironically, dating a woman is a lot like the game altering cash shop items that now comprise the majority of Nexon's profit. Lots of gambling, lots of money spent and in the end there's a good chance you'll end up having wasted it all. YEEEEAAAAAAH!

But in super seriousness, those videos seem to be targeting the wrong demographic. The foreign Maple commercials had people in costumes, and even they weren't as horrible as these two videos. /r/ new commercials with Hime cosplaying as Mercedes. Because that's how you attract the right demographic!

I still remember the Aran commercial on Nickelodeon a few years back.

I remember they said its Uhh-Rahn not Aaron (they way it should be pronounced). I laugh at this...

아란 is pronounced ah-rahn, I'd assume the korean would be the correct way to pronounce it. I don't know anyone who pronounces it Aaron Rolleyes

The bus is actually a coverup for a white van, the monsters inside are candy, and that guy who came out is the abductor. Nexon is trying to say they are kidnapping players with their so-called "treats" and that the people kidnapped will never see the sunlight again, hence it being night time.

Tell me I'm wrong.

I merely tolerate these since I don't actually see these on TV.

Well, the second one makes it clear that they are looking for a party and the party is in MapleStory. Now the questin would be what does a train or a Museum have to do with the game.

In any case this is far better than the "Because we can and It's free" campaign. I mean, just look at the video from it posted here. It seriously makes me disgusted.

Oh and the girl is pretty hot, that definitely earns it some positive points.

One member of the group is showing the others something interesting he discovered in a train car; it's obvious that the group is intrigued and wants to find something cool. The bus is a party bus.

I don't understand the fervent hate for these ads. They aren't bad but they aren't great. They're just pretty average commercials. The end of the Bus one is bland, though.

I'd be so disappointed if i was one of those people. Try to find something cool in a train, all you get is MS. Try to go to an awesome party...MapleStory. Find a party bus...filled with maplestory zoo. Tongue You'd think they would get tired of it and just start expecting this to happen to everything exciting in their lives
