Private Servers Made Nexon get off their ass?
#21
In all I think Nexon is starting to shape up. Whether it was old players leaving due to lack of new content, or new ones leaving for private servers because they dont wanna earn levels, they are releasing bigger and better patches each time. Bugged as they are, you still have to give them credit. At least they are trying.....right?

It seems like they are trying to improve and I like it :p

Although I still think they should try improving their servers instead of the content first.

Exactly what was said after we got 4th job. It was only a few months before Nexon returned to their low-quality self.

I think it was kind of stupid that people said nexon was beginning to shape up after 4th job, all because of one good patch. Ofcourse everybody was glad that they finally released 4th job, but that's the only good thing they did.

I might be mistaking this with something else, but didn't they have a small Good-Company Streak?

December before 4th job was when Odin got started... Wow, I just made that connection. Eek
Odin starts up, 4th job comes out, epic Experience Events.

I do believe they are trying to progress faster than private servers, and that is of course a positive thing. I also believe they may be trying to get a better grade by the BBB, seeing as they were very recently an F rating.

Well now, this is interesting. I can bring that up every time I hear a Hate-Message about Private Servers. xD

Link to it please?

Improving is easy, maintaining is what requires time, money, and skillz.

Yes, they already have improved quite a bit, but it was a matter that they WERE an F rating, not that they are.

Private servers will always exist, so they can't get rid of them all.
But as they begin to get popular and populated, Nexon will take action to break them down.

Basically, Nexon wants to be "the one place" to play MapleStory.
If only they hosted more events and such, they wouldn't have to worry about other people leaving to P-servers.

Even if they did host more events, there will still be people who aren't willing to grind

But what are private servers?
In most of them, it takes about 2 weeks to get to level 200 if you really tried for it.
Then, they go and make another character of a new class and repeat the process.

After one has every class at level 200, what's left? Events.
I can't see level 200's training for the hell of it 4 - 8 hours a day without any more gain.

That's how I see it anyways.

That's how I see it too

That's why I don't play private servers of any sort (Including ragnarok servers)

It's not just events, it's Nexon - Mapler Interactions. Nexon has autobans that ban more legit players than hackers. The Filters are also annoying. I hate not being able to say "grape", "wish it", "pigs", "blow", ect. <_<

Some people just want to play servers with more than 100x Rates. Servers with over 100 rates usually die down fast. All the serious, large servers barely exceed 50x rates.
(Odin was 8x, not sure about Flowison, I know a growing server that's 30x)
