Sarah Wrote:If you guys have Windows Silverlight you can stream the events (even past ones) on CTV.ca. Not limited to Canadians AFAIK. Why do they make us use that pomegranate.. Also, the events they do stream live don't have commentary. Sometimes it's nice, but for the particularly boring events, it can kind of ruin it. It is very convenient though.

WillDaSnail Wrote:Here in the U.S., NBC has a monopoly on Olympics coverage (which is ****ing lame IMO), and they show the footage 5-6 hours after it happens for the ratings + $$$. End result is that it sucks balls many times over (one being SPOILERS GALORE!). If you want to watch it live, you will have to watch the livestream on the interwebz with an active cable/satellite TV subscription. :\ LOL Even with a TV/internet subscription, my apartment is completely blocked from viewing replays because my tv/internet package is insufficient for viewing (i.e. you pay for the cheapest possible package and therefore don't get to watch the olympics). Seriously. It even gave me a link to "upgrade" my television to a more proper subscription >.> The nerve.

Grats on Phelps for breaking 20 metals, Gabby Douglas for getting GOLLDDDDDDDDDD overall (god Shawn Johnson's coach is good), sucks for Raisman and the Russians, they're probably all so sad =/. Raisman would probably be more happy with a bronze than Komova with her silver >_>.
GMSInfighter Wrote:My new gymnast waifu is Kyla Ross :3 McKayla Maroney's vault <3. Girl flies two feet higher than the best goddamm gymnasts in the world even with a broken toe. Shame she couldn't compete in more events, and I'll be missing the vault finals on Sunday live and maybe even in the NBC recap >_>.

Today's tennis was amazing. Both the men and women singles finals are going to be amazing. I'm even interested to watch the doubles events as well.

Damn! Sun Yang just beat his own world record by just over 3 seconds. Ryan Cochrane really turned the jets on and got silver! I don't know how anyone can last 1500m..

A 1000m isn't too bad actually, though semi-sprinting it is fricken ridiculous. I've swam a 1000m before (it took me 20 minutes Dx) so imagining another 500m with a sprint on the last 100m doesn't seem to be that bad. After a while your arms just feel like jello and you get into a routine, so it doesn't feel as bad as you think it should feel, but after the end, boy I just want a nap.

Phelps and the gang win gold at the 4x100 Medley... Making it 22 total for Phelps and 18 G's for the dolphin.
The female Phelps, Franklin, wins her 4th Gold, 5th overall, and breaks another world record with the gals. I guess if you practice and practice, but damn, that was 14 minutes of constant fast swimming, something I could never dream of doing. The Chinese guy still had energy in him at the end! 100m final today.
![]() My body is ready. EDIT: I can't believe this >_> I was watching women doubles badmington final between Japan and China (not live, but recorded), then I looked at the Olympic tweets on the right side of the site: "Could it be clean sweep for China in Badmington?" WAY TO SPOIL IT! FML! >;(((( I wanted Japan to win. EDIT2: It starts! AAAAAAAAND ITS OVER! damn with a better start Bolt would have made new WR. Still amazing...... 2nd best time EVER

Watched women's vault live. So disappointed that McKayla Maroney got silver =(.

That moment when NZ is so awful our defending gold medalist in women's shot put was discovered to be unregistered to compete. Mistake has apparently been fixed.
