GMS:CrimsonWood keep 2,Magatia coming soon
Russt Wrote:But there are compromises to be made.

I'm going to improvise on fighting a Windraider boss by itself, just as an example...

Mobile? Stationary? KBable? Mobile bosses stop moving to attack. If our Windraider boss attacks often, it won't be that difficult for melee classes to keep up with. As for pinnability, it's completely unnecessary and makes for dull boss fights. How does a ranger mob Himes? He attacks until they come within range and begin their attack, then steps back and attacks again. This kind of strategy lends itself to being cornered easily, but that's where warps come in.

High damage vs low damage? What about a distance-scaled damage system? If you're closer, you get hit for more, and if you're farther, you get hit for less. That would probably be difficult to implement, but the same effect could be achieved by giving it a few close range high damaging attacks, similar to current Windraiders', as well as long range lower damaging attacks like an Arrow Rain style thing. And a quick wind-themed projectile attack would fit in well too. One thing about projectiles - they're nearly impossible to avoid when you're up close, but when farther away, they're much easier to handle. This means they can be made to deal fatal damage to ranged classes, without endangering their lives too much.

The only thing left is avoid, which is a trivial matter.

If you don't notice, that's exactly what a high damage avoidable attack is.

Projectiles ftw! a flying boss like geist, with map warps, without geist's warp! (cause that just irks me to no end f7)

An Iron arrow type skill would be extremely helpful - warriors taking the brunt of it, with the damage scaling down towards the end (not the -18% that IA gets, more like a -5~7% per character)

an option to keep all classes in check, as mentioned, is a weapon specific forced dispel / lock (cant use skills of a specific weapon type - NL's would get reduced to double stab and disorder, archers to... double shot and snipe?, mages to one element / no element, etc etc.

or a weapon specific halver - halves the atk on all weapons of that type in the map for X amount of time. a NL with a 32 atk claw just sucks, a BM with a 55 atk bow is terrible (that's a v2k, iirc), etc etc. leave the mages out of this one.

10% Alex. Not 18%. 10%.

Or if you're talking pre-v.56, then it'd be 20%.

For magatia, what are the benefits of each faction?

IsaacGS Wrote:You clearly didn't realize that I said that specifically as a retaliatory comment against the mindset that "MAKE IT DO A LOT OF DAMAGE SO ARCHERS AND SINS CAN'T COME". I don't really want it to be impossible for warriors, but if they're gonna be running around saying pomegranate like that, then I'm gonna say things like this.

oh, and off the topic of bosses, Maker more than likely will NOT be out with Magatia. KMS had Magatia for about 8 months before they got Maker, don't count on it so soon for us.

That's true, but remember we are the first version that got Leafre part 1 + Leafre part 2 + 4th Job + Mounts and everything else in one patch.. at least I think we are.

So yeah, there's still an hope. If the NEXON's worker didn't mean Maker skill, what did he mean with "new crafting recipes"? :f6:

-new crafting recipes (anybody thinking maker skill?)

Probably making the rest of the items (swords, axes, knuckles, guns) in CWK.

Oh.. alright. But we can still hope for the Maker skill, can we?

Maybe not.. :f6:

We can hope it will come, but if it doesn't, oh well!

1. The forging stuff must be what Fiona says about "Come back to check for more stuff to forge"

2. A boss with different parts can be the best option. Example:
Part 1: Stationary, low avoid, hugeass damage. Safe spot far away, impossible to attack from there. Warriors win here.
Part 2: HIGH avoid, movile, flying, normal damage. Ranged win here.
"Mini" parts 3: 5 different forms, which added make a normal form, and changing weaknesses (only 1 weakness on each, each being a different one) and strenghts. Also resistant to phisical attacks. Maybe make a form or two IMMUNE to physical.
Last part: Something original, for everyone, like the geist balrog, with stuff like mortal attacks for ranged that can be easily avoided (marks on floor, ground marks...), and hard to be reached, but low avoid...

Stuff like that can work out nicely, and everyone's useful.

So is that means that we will get in december Magatia?

there aren't really any benefits. As I said, you can join both groups, and you have to play both groups throughout the entirety of the storyline. At the end, you're given a choice between handing over the data to the Jenumists, or the Alchadeno, or a neutral group (The scientist's family). Giving it to either faction will upgrade your cape from the standard level 35 version to the level 70 one. The level 70 one is nothing special... Giving it to the neutral party just grants experience. (the other two give experience also)

Undoubtedly more Crimsonwood forging options. I mean right now there aren't weapons for a lot of classes. The sword's still (apparently) completely unobtainable.

It hasn't been released in any version yet.

IsaacGS Wrote:You already have Horntail, Tonosama, Pink Bean... OH WAIT THOSE ARE ALL THE ACTUALLY HARD BOSSES.

Major bosses like this one will be should be accessible to all classes. It's not fair that a level 80 warrior can go to Horntail and survive with ease when an archer has to wait until 160 to even stand a chance at surviving, now is it?

I hope it has 95 avoid to make it completely inaccessible to warriors. >_>

Being able to survive a hit =/= being able to effectively / efficiently fight. Archers can solo pap in about 15 minutes at a respectable level, crow in 25-30, etc - an equivalent warrior will generally take twice as long. As PA DrK, like me, 4x as long at the least.
Beyond that, it is a simple matter to add HP - simply add some instead of Dex when you level, or even HP wash (note that it is impossible to ACC wash). Adding Dex for acc is an option as well, but as warriors are already at a damage disadvantage, this only further increases the problem of being slow/inefficient at bosses.

However, as warriors are better at mobbing, this was going to be expected. The problem is: Fighting worse =/= not being able to fight at all. Sure, you can't acc wash, but acc comes fast from equips, while hp doesn't. Also, we don't have hp potions either, and HP washing is EXPENSIVE enough to say "Not spending that much for a game". Also, about adding points into hp: When you add on DEX, your acc grows more (appart from the equips) than if we add hp. If we get hp, we get around 10-20 hp... You need to use 1 level to raise 100 hp (being possitive), when we would need 1k - 2k more to decently survive... That means 10-20 levels wasted, while warriors don't even need that.
