i really wish that my mom would tell us when she's going to be gone the entire time she invites our nephew to spend the night. "oh i have to go to dinner with people." "oh i have to try on dresses with people."
i love my nephew to death but I HAVE THINGS TO DO. YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST TOLD ME ANYTHING BEFOREHAND.

Ok, so at my job we work about 3 months ahead of actual seasons. I'm mostly focusing on fall decor right now, and for anyone that lives in Texas they must know what a mum is. That's all my life is going to be for the next few weeks, homecoming mums. ;___;

Work yesterday was rough, per usual, so I finally sat down with our Senior Market Editor and addressed the concerns I have and how I want more than anything to be the best intern ever (like everyone should), and how I can go about doing just that. We'll sit down on Monday with our Fashion Assistant and maybe a few other people and hash out an action plan to make things less chaotic and more efficient, so I'm excited.
Still haven't received my goddamn mail yet and USPS doesn't know jack pomegranate about where it is. I've literally called/gotten calls from their offices in several states now and everyone's telling me something different. Word to the wise: avoid USPS at all costs, and if you have to send something, make sure you're just simply mailing it. Apparently "forwarding" mail is incomprehensible rocket science to them. Aside from all that the weekend's been great thus far. A really good friend is in town visiting so we've all been hanging out, shopping, thrifting, eating great food, etc. Of course I still ended up getting clothes at J.Crew alone thus far, but so it goes - and I'm happy I finally have a blazer! Going out in a few hours with said friend to rooftop bars across Manhattan to end Saturday on a swanky note.

Watching Donnie Darko with my friend and playing the Donnie Darko drinking game:
1 drink every time you see an close up of an eye 1 drink every time you see a bunny of any kind 1 drink every time you see a clock 1 drink every time someone says Frank 1 drink every time someone says time travel 1 drink every time Frank says something to Donnie 1 drink every time someone says Grandma Death 1 drink every time someone says love or fear Needless to say, we are both drunk beyond belief.

Went clothes shopping today. I thought for sure that dropping almost 50 pounds would make a sizable difference in the clothing that I buy.
NOPE. Turns out that I, most certainly, have loose skin, and that is stopping me from buying tighter clothes. The loose skin is causing my fat to be stored along the apron of my belly. This forces me to go with a bigger pant size than without loose skin. So it totally sucked to have to increase my pant size because I'm losing weight. So I walked out of the department store with size 60 pants because of my loose skin. I'm not mad at myself because I have loose skin. I simply have to accept this as reality and reality states I need a good pair of slacks. At least the pants fit really nicely. There was a bit of a sticker shock at buying two pairs of slacks for $200, but I need good slacks to wear for sure.

Paid my respects to my old laptop and laptop before we gave it to my uncle who lets his students tear it apart for education.
Now it's time to shop for a gaming desktop.

Had brunch and coffee with the ladies in Brooklyn at a wonderful Italian restaurant and Swedish coffee house, respectively. Then one of the friends left for LaGuardia to fly back to Madison, and I headed up to West 4th in Manhattan and wandered around there and SoHo for a couple hours.
Had a great time and explored straight into the only Swarovski Crystallized concept store in the country, which was super exciting being a former employee of the company, and of course their annual July sale was going on, though it was even better than my old store. Ended up purchasing a beautiful strand of crystal pearls for my Mom's upcoming birthday for next to nothing. Such a great weekend, but time to prep for another rough week. Fingers crossed that with a new action plan put into effect tomorrow things will be less stressful!
