True, however, it would make sense to bring the phantom in around the 31st so that new phantoms created would have a chance to participate in the anniversary event. having them do the first part of the justice patch would give new phantoms enough time to complete all of the time sensitive event quests as well as try to find the canes from maple boxes.

Phantoms are part two of Justice, however. Nothing is stopping them from releasing Phantom right from the start, but it would take away from the highly anticipated Thief/Pirate revamps.

This is true, but consider that they also announced they are releasing an "exclusive" hero as well, so it would make sense they release the phantom and thief/pirate revamp in patch one and the exclusive in patch two, that way nexon could maximize their profits longer.

Wish Nexon offered a classic maplestory with just 3rd job and crap. I'd probably be back just for the sake of nostalgia.

If Nexon thought this way, don't you think they would have released Demon Slayer a few weeks earlier so people creating those characters could participate in the Christmas and New Years events like Cannoneer and Mercedes did? >_> Demon Slayer was the only Legends character that couldn't complete the Legends event (ignoring the fact that it was fucking broken and no one actually completed it anyway) because half of the events were already over before he was released.

To further elaborate this, all nexon cares about is the player count. It's dropped and it normally spikes up, well it hasnt done the normal formula the game has come to expect. My assumption of this whole mess is that Nexon couldn't figure out the problem, hired executives to find out what, disowned lackies who couldn't come up with answers, and here's the result. Is it a good one? On the cover yes, it's a necessary one. But remember, it needs a proper follow up for long time changes.
