Maple Story 3D and Maple Story 2. Does not seem like a hoax.

Kava Tina story is more than likely its own game. Its just the same people that made MapleStory is making this game (There will likely be cameos from Maple in this game )

But, KavaTina Story is supposed to be showcased at GStar 2008. According to mmosite, Nexon is showing 3 secret projects there. MapleStory 3D, Project Neo, And Project Star. Project Neo has already been confirmed as the Kart Rider sequel, and Project Star seems like its going to be an MMOSG like Second Life. Kava Tina Story looks like a regular MMORPG (from what I saw in the tiny teaser). -shrug- But I could be wrong because the same site says that Mabinogi:Heroes will also be unveiled. And that couldn't be either of those two.

I want to see more. It looks promising... or not, cause yanno it is Nexon and all but, hey they could make it decent. Better not be like well see you pay us 100k nx cash a month to play, get no additional benefits... but if ya want you can pay us 20k more nx for 2x exp but the 2x will be glitched and get you banned for gaining so much exp.

As long as it's not a clicky, I'd play.

Pls keep it Side scrolling, that's what makes Maple, Maple.

That looks like a bad game, honestly. It looks like you have to choose certain characters to play certain classes instead of having a basic character and choosing your class path.
I hate those types of games where you have to choose a character...(Like Lunia, Rakion, etc) I like good character customization.

If this is truly the <MS3D>, then I'm disappointed.
<MS2> is still up in the air though, so I've got a bit of hopes in that one.

So was it told if KavaTina was MS3D yet?

Atleast they made it a side-scrolling 3D game. I'm not too fond of the usual, over top camera view. Then again - this could just be because I'm so used to Maple Story. >_>

Either way - I'm not too happy about what Baklava mentioned. I'm a sucker for customized characters, and having to pick a certain character look and what class it is isn't all that fun. It'll probably be like Lunia, in which you can buy different outfits in the cash shop. Bleh.

Other than the crappy non-customization, it doesn't look half bad.

It looks like a half-assed Dragonica.

I don't like its style, I mean it is sidescroller sorta, but its in a fun way...

Seems vary storyline based.

Well at least it is in the same vein as maple story and not a point and click. The graphics do look quite nice. I like the style. But as people have pointed out, if you have to stick to the same generic characters then that is a downer. Seems a bit Little big planet too, being able to move closer and further from the screen. That is all well and good in a platform but do i want that in an rpg. At some points it looked a bit clumsy. But overall it looks pretty good.

so far from what ive been able to find theres nothing tying kavatina story to maple other then nexon owned wizet is developing the title, outside of everstory which seems to take alot from maplestory, ive been unable to find anything about a specific title called "maplestory 2"

i find it kinda odd the story about it being shown privately, gstar isnt like e3 where theres closed rooms that companies show up and coming games to distributors/investors, as mmo developers distribute the software themselves, the event is more of a consumer event to get excitement about new launches in the press/public.... we'll see though

It's also a browser game... and you don't do much in it either... you're not making a very strong argument at all... in fact, it sounds more like you're afraid that they'd be good that way.

The graphics actually are more impressive than Dragonica (Well, to me), but those examples of gameplay make it look really slow and unexciting. But well the whole fighting bosses that are in the background thing is kinda cool.

Maybe MapleStory 3D and MS2 Aren't any of these

I've been thinking a lot about this topic and how it could/should be done with the 3d game and still keep the MapleStory touch. Today, I went to Nexon Korea's site out of pure curiousity. Thats where I found this jewel. Assuming Kavatina Story is not MapleStory 3D, which I believe is very much a possibility (and I don't think it would play like that, but it might. Ya never know), this is how I imagine MapleStory 3D to be like (minus the shooting action stuff). A side-scrolling 3D adventure RPG. I mean, that would be the best way to keep the gameplay Maplers love, while making the game 3D.

As for the Kavatina Story thing, for some reason I'm hoping this isn't MapleStory 3D, but instead another new great game. Don't know why, just do. Call me greedy, but TWO new games to play sounds better than one. But sadly, I do view it as a possibility, soley because of the "Story" in the title. What better way to tie the two games together than to keep a word in the title the same.

From all the games and pics posted in this thread, this is the one that get the closest to how I wish MapleStory 2 or 3D (w.e) looked like. Well, without the metal Slug theme. lolz

Kavatina looks too much like PunchMonster and Dragonica, and EverPlanet looks like a very retarded Rip off Super Mario Galaxy. Long live to the Current 2D Maple Story.

The graphics don't matter to me much, considering I appreciate a game like MS. (LOL)
And in Dragonica, the first major boss, Lavalon, is in the background as well. ;x
