With the last server check, the IGN of my Bishop to be was changed by the GM's without my request. I was quite disheartened by this, as I didn't see it being an offensive name, and have also heard many a poor story from maplers when dealing with GM's..... in particular the lack of customer focus shown by their staff.
I thought i'd show my experiances logging a ticket and show, that perhaps if you act politely and respectful way, without swearing your head off GM's will listen and hopefully act in a customer focus'd way.

To whom it may Concern,
Firstly I would like to acknowledge the above, your rights as I have signed in the Terms of Service when creating my Account.
I am aware of what you CAN do, legally speaking, however I would like to question the decision process you entered when you decided to change the IGN of my Character and as an act of Customer Focus reverse this change.
During the last server check the name of my character was changed from "S3xyBsh" to "Ranrynshy" by a member of your staff. I am understandably quite upset by this change, as I feel I have not violated any Term in your Service Agreement with the creation of this IGN. I feel the IGN I had created on my account abided by all rules set forth in your TOS and was not considered offensive, in any way. I feel your staff member was hasty in changing my IGN and would like to appeal the change, with a resolution of the IGN being changed back to what it was originally.
the IGN I chose reflects the unity many of my friends and I share, in using the prefix "s3xy", and as no one else has had their accounts altered, I am lead to believe the issue is with the second half of my IGN, BSH. I am unsure how you can call a shortened form of one of your own 4th job Classes offensive, and am quite flabbergasted as to how "Bish", the shortened form of "Bishop" would breach your terms of service. Using character names based on the many jobs within maple story does not appear as above in the list of inappropriate IGN's and as I have also seen many users with names including other jobs within maple story im quite confused by your decision.
Furthermore, the IGN's S3xyBish and S3xyB1sh remain unchanged, which were not created by me however were alternatives I contemplated when creating my character until I realised they had already been taken.
I am a Compulsive Nexon Cash buyer, and someone who has enjoyed playing your game for many years. I have invested many real dollars into the progressive enjoyment of Maple Story and am quite disheartened to find out my loyalty could be rewarded with such a slap on the wrists as an un-requested IGN change. I have always heard of the lack of customer focus shown by your company, and look forward to this opportunity for you to prove the slander incorrect.
I look forward to your reply

Greetings Scott,
Thank you for contacting Nexon America's Customer Support team.
Unfortunately, your character's name was changed because it was inappropriate. While it may be a shortened version of Bishop, it can be read with a different connotation, one that is against our Terms of Use. Because of this, and the fact that others may not read the name as you intended it, it needed to be changed.
Please read our Terms of Use at http://nximage.nexon.net/common/legal_info/terms.html regarding appropriate names. We will give you the opportunity to provide 5 suggestions for new names. The 5 names that you suggest MUST be appropriate and please check to make sure that they are available. If none of the 5 names that you provide are appropriate, we will leave your name as is. You can submit your new names in a new ticket.
Sincerely,
GM Daliah

not what I dreamed of as a resolution, but certainly not what i dreaded either. i'd urge anyone who finds themselves needing to discuss something with any GM to do it in a polite and respectful way, and hopefully they will be more inclined to listen and give a positive resolution as i have found.
Sexy Bish will not be interpreted as Sexy Bishop. If I was the GM reading that, I'd reject your query too.
I am just f7ed by them targeting inappropriate names rather than serious issues such as scamming and harassment. They seem faster on namechanging MrD!ckhead to Fluffykun than they are about banning some guy that's been KSing another guy for fifteen and a half days.

Honestly i'd say this is pretty good for Nexon's customer service, they didnt give you a 99% automated response, they actually addressed your concern, and provided a legitimate reason as to why they cant allow it. They even gave you the option for a free-ish name change.
Sorry to hear you lost your name, but honestly Nexon wasn't really in the wrong here, they were just adhering to the rules by which they run themselves. Im actually suprised by this customer service right here :f6:
Edit: Not saying you accused them of anything wrong, just saying for all the "lololol Nexon Customer support suxx lololol" people.
Hey, at least they're willing to change your name to something of your choice. Be happy. I remember there were a few incidences where the changes were permanent...

I hope if mllf gets changed they give me a free namechange >_>
I am really suprised you haven't heard of this. o.o
Bish is a way to say "B!tch." So the name could either be interpreted as SexyBishop or SexyB!tch, but with the word "Sexy" in the name it seems more likely it was intended to mean SexyB!tch.

I think they think of bsh as the other B-word, pomengrate I believe.
Of course, NEXON may want to edit their User Abuse Policy so people don't get scared into thinking their characters will get deleted just because NEXON doesn't agree with it being appropriate, which almost everything isn't appropriate. Of course, most don't browse the User Abuse Policy, but I would think that there would be quite a lot of angry people if they actually followed it and deleted characters for inappropriate names.
Let's just hope NEXON doesn't figure out what Thalid actually stands for. (It's a reference to a certain drug, Thalidomide, in addition to being a slight MtG reference. And ironically, I actually have a character named Thalidomide in GMS.)
Hmm, I think you only got a proper reply because it was a topic that not many people would send tickets in about, plus the way you worded it, they don't really have an auto response for it. Whereas something like someone getting falsely banned, they will just auto respond regardless of how good your message is. I actually sent in a ticket asking them about why they put restrictions on NX and make some things you can only buy with Nexon Game Card NX, I got a real responce within 3 days. So that's what leads me to believe that they will respond properly to something that isn't popular in tickets.
Wow, congratulations on not getting an auto-mated reply, and also congratulation on getting the option to change your name ^^;
They didn't mention S3xy was bad, right? Just ask them to change it to something like S3xyGen(esis) or something o_o; (because you said you always have S3xy in your IGN or something).

Yes, that's being done. Unfortunate your old IGN cannot be used again, but your suggestions are just as good.
My responses have always been good with them too, although mostly automated the question is usually answered.
Wow... I have to give you kudos on how you BS'ed your way through that to get a favourable result. If I was in that GM's shoes, I'd obviously think you were BS'ing but I don't think I'd have any choice but to give you the benefit of the doubt and I'd wind up doing the same thing they did.
