Greetings, Maplers!


As we prepare for the upcoming year in MapleStory, Dual Blades, Cannoneers, Mercedes, and Demon Slayers are becoming limited-time character classes. These character classes will not be available in the Character Creation screen starting with the March game update, scheduled for the second week of March.

Please note this restriction will NOT affect any of these classes that were created before the restriction goes into effect.

If you havent started your journey as a Dual Blade, Cannoneer, Mercedes or Demon Slayer, head into MapleStory and get going today!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I already created a Dual Blade/Cannoneer/Mercedes/Demon Slayer. What will happen to my character?
A: This change will NOT affect any existing characters.

Q: Will my Dual Blade/Cannoneer/Mercedes/Demon Slayer character be deleted come the March game update?
A: No. All existing Cannoneer, Dual Blade, Mercedes, Demon Slayer characters will remain in the game. Your character achievements will not be harmed once this restriction goes into effect. With the March game update, no new Cannoneer, Dual Blade, Mercedes, Demon Slayer characters may be created.

Q: Can I still create these character classes now?
A: Yes. You can create any of the four classes up until we start the maintenance for the March update.

Q: Will these limited-time character classes come back?
A: Yes. Announcements regarding their return will be posted on the website.

I guess it was only a matter of time before they went the way of KMS.

First one I'm aware of anyways. Wonder why they are doing this O.o

Kind of surprised. I didn't think they'd follow up with this as they did in kMS, but I guess it'll help to combat everyone making a Mercedes or whatever.

Just like anytime before a big revamp or whatnot that they disable character creation for those classes. Now, if creation for those classes come back and creation is restricted by some NX-related bullcrap, then that would be another story.

Interesting, wonder if they'll also take out Evan's CS books finally...yeah probably not sadly =/

Doubt it's to get ready for Phantom maybe Union?

Lets see my guess is Akyurem is on the 31st because everything just suddenly ends then. I would then guess the 4 competitive pqs will then bleed into February via SC or not. March could be the start of Union with April Phantom leading into Anniversary with Cake vs Pie 3 or some bull shyt. Just my guess anyway

Hopefully this reduces the costs of the damn books in the long term. xd

Unless a problem comes up with one of these classes later on and they can't be damned to fix it themselves.

DB's and the Legends classes still aren't available for creation in GMS, lol.
