I made it to the part where he "hurries back to his home town" before my screen just went, well, black.

I didn't get it until the scene with the house on fire. Had a little bit of hope I wasn't going to get glitched given how long I was going there.

Re-open the game, that's what I did xP then it became clickable.

Anywho, made my character, not gonna log into it til I hear some kind of "issue is resolved" about the whole black screen thing I guess.

Yeah, black screened after he goes back to his hometown. Will just let it sit and wait, see if something happens.
