People being hacked since the last Server Check.
¬Rob Wrote:Ew, where'd they say that would be THE package from now on? ):

I have a clear recollection of it being included in an official Nexon forum post or some such. Something in the lines of that they hoped that they could make it a standing feature in case of account compromisation. Though, I suppose it could refer to a package in itself, not the content of it.

Backflippy Wrote:Has anyone else who was hacked, but didn't get the first round of compensation, get any message along these lines?

That's pretty much the same message those who were hacked in 2009/2010 got after a half year of waiting and almost another year before the first round of compensation.

Greetings,

We appreciate your patience while we continue to investigate the report of the hacked account.

We understand that you have been waiting a while and we want to assure you that help is around the corner. We are working very diligently towards a resolution.

Your account was credited with 10,000 MaplePoints on 04/13/2010, please understand that this is not compensation for the issue, but rather a thank you for your continued patience. Please feel free to use these MaplePoints however you wish.

We will provide updates to your issue as often as possible.

Sincerely,

GM Mjollnir

Except we got twice as much, but in the form of MaplePoints, which were worthless.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

Oh my god 5k. What ever will you do with so much money?

I haven't gotten a human reply to this day, gotta love Nexon.

Goddammit. I logged in today to get my Hot Time prizes and now I see that they've disabled the account locking by using a special character in a password change. Tongue

Is there any other way to lock accounts now? Rolleyes

EDIT: nvm, reading that other topic. http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php...post883678

Is nexon even aware of this problem?

Yes hamad, they are. This problem has been around for around a year, and they have even admitted a database leak, allthough not posted on their own site. A bigger, more important question is if it is important enough for them to really do anything more than they are, and unfortunantly the answer seems to be no, served with a middle finger.

My friend was hacked yesterday. He NEVER shared his account with anyone and he was strict as f'ucking hell with his account information. He has no idea how his account was compromised... Sad stuff. It's especially sad considering all of the money he put into the game.

Why do you guys still get shocked? The people getting hacked aren't account sharers, or people who visited shady websites (some might be, but not majority) There was a database leak...tons of accounts were compromised, and now they are just getting hit one by one..

Because that would require players to know what their IP is/was/will be at all times to work. IRC users have trouble with that, how do you think people playing a sprite-MMO will handle it?

Why don't they implement authenticators?
We could fill the forum with whys to the skies and never get anywhere.

At this point, I honestly don't think it's about them not doing it for any reason other than they flat CAN'T. They either do not know how, know how but cannot get the higher ups to approve the changes, or they (in this case, the game's programmers in Korea) know that it is literally impossible to secure a game coded as badly as this one is. At this point it's probably looking more akin to a 40 year old wool knitted blanket that has belonged to several generations of kids; held together literally by strings. Perhaps "threads" would be a better analogy, dohoho.

Don't GMs usually have "GM" or the name of the world in their IGN?

They obviously aren’t even taking the precaution to have their GM's change passwords every 2-3 months.

You say that as if changing your password frequently will prevent your being hacked.

Also, I'm pretty sure GM's have the first 3 letters of the world's name as the last three letters of their ign (e.g. DoofusSCA).

Yeah, that looks more like someone found a way to hack those equipment onto their character. No idea how that's possible, though.

Also, what's with all of the Korean player-like super megaphones about free market stuff in GMS now? It's all "<free market room> Shop(ping) go go go go go go go go go!" That sh*t was cute in KMS the first few times I saw it, but then it became really annoying.

Oh, players in KMS do it? In GMS Kradia I've only ever seen this current wave of (presumably Chinese goldseller) hackers use it.

The Chinese users in KMS say ''shoping gogogoggogogo''.

My friend got hacked he's the one with green hair.. :0
They were smega'ing that MaplSec thing last night so I did my research and then I found that..
Does the hacking have anything to do with reactivating your account btw?
My brother got the reactivation thing and it has a deleted email.
I got a thing that says to change my password Sad Maybe we can make an email with the same provider and name so we can get the reactivation links?? :0
EX: The account was activated using a deleted email, and the email is HahaBlankets@Gmail.com, but it doesn't exist so we go to Gmail and make an email called HahaBlankets
and we get our account back? :0
