One can dream that they'll actually make it acknowledge profile settings and honor ignore lists and not be so craptastic in the sad attempt at a pass-through that they made.

Half the time the ignore list doesn't even work, yeah. I've blocked the two braindead resident spammers psychpillow and fatalyst on there, and I still have to put up with looking at the garbage they spew out most of the time.

Why the hell do you need 6 hours to maintain a forum, it would be more understandable if it's an update....

I'm sure it's going to me at least that long to patch to the next version of vBulletin Rolleyes

Especially since I likely have to do it incrementally to avoid breaking/missing something.

I only post there in a futile attempt to gain the passing attention of hime to some major issue with the game. It's never succeeded, by the way, so I've mostly given up at this point. Besides, the entire thread after my post is just people defending nexon and everything they do no matter what; in one thread, I just made a long post, mostly sided it with the way nexon was doing things, but put in one small statement where they could use some improvement in the middle, and that one line was all anyone quoted, not the rest of the 2-3 paragraphs of me being noncritical of them. It's almost always the "if you don't like it, quit" line. That line should be banned from use in arguments, punishable by chopping off your hands, mainly so the person can no longer type that crap.

There's a lot of people that actually show up at Nexon forums. Only people southperry are the extract people and the people that rage about maplestory even though they don't play it, Lol.

Whenever i been in nexon forums. 9/10 of the threads are about complaining about a bug/glitch/hack/exploit which get locked/deleted as soon as a nexon employee sees it. Because apparently they are just causing FUD. But I have never used it as a source of knowledge. (well never succeeded if i tried)

Oh and i wouldn't expect a patch notice until around 11pm GMT which is uhm.. about 3pm pacific? that's if the patch is tonight.

They're going to do the legend update and forum update at once? That's not a very good sign.

Total smart move, to me. They won't have to put up with foolish children filling the forum with "WHN IZ DA GAME GUN B BAK UP?!?!" posts during the update.

I'm going to take a stab. I reckon their forum/web devs are a different team to their patching people (couldn't think of the name lol) so it shouldn't be a problem? right? lol

What's to deal with? If i were them i would just ignore the forums and...actually...work on the update? I see no point giving them even more work to accomplish in the same time span. The only logical reason i could think of is that they don't want their 200 employees to be trashed by tomorrow.

I still don't get a 6 hour forum maintenance, what makes it worse that it was pushed back a day.
A forum SHOULDN'T be as hard to maintain as if it was a game or a large chunk of technical gizmos, gadgets or servers.
Unless, of course you have tons and tons of addons and tweaks but it's just a maintenance.
I mean, vBulletin has a admin CP, it's not like they have to run to Maple's forums, then go down to Mabinogi and what not, it is all in one area.

Yeah, and I'm probably overreacting about a flipping maintenance and probably have no idea how a forum maintenance goes but that is just my cup of tea.

Well, as horribly as vBulletin's queries are written they may be doing a six hour maintenance just go in and index and tweak and adjust things.

You might have been correct...if it wasn't VBULLETIN. So easy to just completely break 20 different things while tweaking one or two.
