3DS discussion with Tokyo Gameshow Tidbits: Ace Vs. Layton

How long will the special edition Zelda 3DS be available for? :<
I probably won't be getting it until Christmas or so, due to lack of funds.

They've had the special edition pokemon black/white DSi for the past few MONTHS, so I think you'll be alright. This thing is a freakin' beauty.

Gonna be picking this up in the new year, is it worth it?

I thought SM3DL was pretty boring until I unlocked the Special Worlds, lol. Then the difficulty stepped up 5 notches.

Id pick it up if you've liked past Mario Kart games. 50cc is no challenge as i said but 100cc and 150cc is good, along with online.

Although so far ive played only 3 online matches and every single one seems to crash as it ends and i lose points for it. I dunno if its my bad connection or something to do with their service. Only people ive played against with a score above the starting VR are Japanese people.

Indeed. If they don't, that's gonna really hurt the amount of time I play my 3DS in the long term. On the chance that they don't release it, I'm really only going to have Paper Mario/Tales of the Abyss(Never played the PS2 version) to look forward to. Then again, this is a young system, so they'll probably release more stuff that'll catch my eye, like the new Kirby or Zelda game they're working on.

After going over it for like 5 seconds, it looks like one of those Nintendo of Japan-like events where you'd go to say... Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan and get something special in your game. If that's the case, though, that means I'll never have a use for that application, since nothing ever occurs in Virginia Beach except for military stuff and tourism. :< No gaming-type events ever take place here.

Has anyone noticed a huge frame rate drop when trying to take a picture / record a video with the low-light setting on? I'm not really trying to record anything, but I was messing around with it for fun and it seems so incredibly slow with the low-light setting on.

I might get Tri G if it comes out in the US.

Monster Hunter with the PSP's controls was terrible but I see a LOT of potential in the series once they've got analog controls for the camera, which is by and far the biggest issue of any of the games to date. I've been playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD on my PS3 which includes Monster Hunter battles as a bonus because of a collaboration with Capcom and they are amazing with full camera control. I think that being able to play it on the 3DS (with pro controller) or Vita with the same basic controls will make the series much bigger in the west, as I imagine the controls have been the largest turn off for many players.

edit: though I must say, I can't understand how anyone can use those heavy weapons. I actually just popped freedom unite in my PSP again earlier tonight and tried out various weapons I had neglected and all of the heavy ones were so bad. Using them was basically suicide.

Great Swords I can use underwater very well on land I can't do anything well, and Hammers have great mobility the attack speed is decent unless you use the spin attack thing then you get your ass handed to you at times.. Saw a few videos hope Monster Hunter Tri G comes to all of North America looks like one of the best 3DS games so far. I need some freaking 3DS games the most played game I have on it is Megaman Dr. Wily's Revenge what the heck..

Edit: Oh yeah the update it was nice though the games on my sd card take a bit longer to load onto the menu.

So Tri G scored a 38/40 in Famitsu.

I really hope they import it at this rate. (Also I don't want to be stuck with just Tri and Freedom Unite)

LS doesn't use stamina, though. Not to mention how hard it wrecks things like Kushala Daora and Akantor.

In MHFU / 2G, there was a video on how to use a GS against Akantor. After studying the video several times, I tried the same method, but with an LS on an Akantor in MHFU. Easy kills if you know where to run and how to hit. I usually aim for his 'belly' and face. Belly being priority if I can get to it, face just for the fangs, really. Once you break his stomach's armoring, it's easy. IIRC, you had to break it twice and then you can do major damage to him. Just use a full-gauge Spirit Sword (LS) and he gets wrecked if you can pinpoint him at the stomach.

Typing about this makes me wanna pop in my MHFU and play again. F`uck. I also tried using the slower weapons, but in MH series, I'm just not a big fan of it. Though in other games, I do prefer using slower weapons (ie: God Eater Burst)
