It's either alcohol or gambling. Would you really prefer OP go fry his hard earned savings?

What else is there to look forward to on your 21st birthday?

I think it depends on the play. When my friends and I went to Dallas, we had no problems getting alcohol or liquor with a Mexican ID.

Alcohol fries your money all the same. pomegranate's expensive as hell. Both are pretty worthless acts to partake in anyways.

nothing else in the US Sad

This is one of those try once then never do again things. I don't have a very big interest in alcohol, but I want to try it at least once for the hell of it. I didn't do it this morning though, would've wasted the entire day away if I did.

I'm gonna be pissed as s'hit if this turns out to be true
You're legally allowed to buy alcohol as long as you're 21. Where you come from doesn't make a difference. The cashiers that turned down Maria were most likely ignorant.

I only drink girly drinks, like Margaritas and stuff. Fruity or dessert type drinks. Everything else tastes disgusting, to me. I accidentally took a drink of my dad's beer at a wedding when I was 4, and now 20 years later I still can't even stand the smell of them.

Fruity drinks are delicious. Only kind I'd ever casually drink.

Being able to order wine in a restaurant is awesome mayn. Hello classy drunk.

But seriously, if you want to drink in the U.S. and you're not 21, it's not exactly that difficult. Turning 21 is just nice for the ability to not have to rely on other people to get you drinks, the opportunity to finally get in to certain establishments, and, again, to be classy and grown-up at le restaurants.

Happy birthday, hope you enjoy it! Smile
I don't know how you Americans put up with a 21 age restriction on alcohol. Must be frustrating...

Only thing special about it for me was since I don't look 21 it was just fun to go to the store and buy it cuz I could and people would be like "you just cant be 21 you look 17" and then you flash your ID. Did the same thing with a pack of cigarettes even though I don't smoke.

Well, since I'm drinking tonight anyway, I'll drink to your birthday!

My 21st involved a family dinner and my dad buying me a Guinness. Which was awful. Still haven't found a beer I really like. Killian's is okay. Have found myself liking rum and (cherry) coke or Jack and coke. Also, Strongbow and Dirty Girl Scouts. Mmm... Dirty Girl Scouts.

i find jack and coke good, but i'm not an alcohol person, i'd rather have a plain-ol coke.

The fun part about never really drinking much is that it only takes an ounce or two of Sailor Jerry in a 12 ounce of coke to get into a right good spot of smiling constantly and wobbling a little while I move but retaining full brain function.

Sailor Jerry: my strong rum-friend.
