Need to take one of these next semester, which would you consider easier SP?
Currently leaning heavily towards Statistics due to already taking a statistics class from high school and it seems easier.

I found statistics to be a bit easier than Calculus. Statistics focuses more on memorizing formulas rather than doing math. But if you are better at math you could try calculus.

Easier?
Statistics.
More useful for your life?
Calculus.

Both are rather easy. Calc I (I assume it's entry level Calc) is incredibly easy, you barely cover derivatives and integrals.

I also think Statistics is a bit more memorizing formulas and Calculus is more "figuring out."

Take Calculus if you want to go into a math/science/engineering field in college. It will help you out so much in your Intro Calc course.
If you wanna major in the liberal arts, just take statistics.

Statistics, because a lot of fields require it for some odd reason and it's just easier in High School.
I personally loved Stats, though.
Also, I disagree with everyone saying that Stats isnt as useful and is about memorizing. It gave me a more realistic view on how things work in the world, and I definitely didn't have to memorize many formulas. Statistics is about finding out what your answer means, how it relates to the process, and how good of an indicator it can be for something.

I'd say take Calculus if you plan to go into anything beside social sciences (would be cool if you could take the derivative of your neighbor's level of morality with respect to time...), the basic idea of limit and derivative helps conceptualizing many fun things and could be useful in many cases where change is involved. (I solved Achilles and the Tortoise intuitively 2 years before taking Calc 1, but afterwards, things became much clearer and systematic).

I guess I should've pointed out I am in college lol. And Shinku, I don't need both to complete my major and as someone who struggles with math at times, I'd rather avoid taking too much of it.

What is your proposed major? It would help in knowing which would be more applicable to your interests.

His major is Zoology. Yes I am ashamed to know him. It sickens me. He's gonna document the behaviors of lions and pregnant zebras for his job.
Blake. Honestly, don't take calculus. You're not gonna be using it and it's real application is for physics/engineering, there's no need to take it if you're not doing that.
Statistics will come in handy in MANY different places, and to be honest I doubt you'll learn the information for life, you'll probably learn it for a test for a grade and forget it afterward. But it's still a much better choice and can be used everywhere.

Yeah if you're not Pre-Med or going into an intensive science field, then definitely take stats, it is way more useful to you especially with research papers and the like.

Hmm odd. My major required me to take Calculus first year and now I'll be taking Stats this year. Calculus was a pre-requisite.
I can't speak from experience because I've only taken Calculus but I would think Stats would be the easier of the two...

considering that and that you are doing zoology, i'd have to agree with stats

This just in: I have to take algebra and trig to take physics which I need for my major ;o; life is hard.

If you need to take Physics, Calculus makes it a lot more easier.

Don't you have to take both calc and stats? I majored in biology and I had to. Just take calc when you have an easier course load and stats when you have a more difficult course load.

Yeah what corn said is the truth. Calculus will make physics a lot easier. I took physics in highschool without it but here in college my physics classes are dependant on calculus, on a level 1.5 level of calculus integrating things.
Trig and Algebra are basic of basic knowledge that should have been carried over from high school. It's like saying you need to take Language Arts in college for your English class...wtp.
Guess I'm gonna have to help you with more homework LOL.
But uhh. If you have to take all those math classes...You're gonna be graduating late. wtp. Well maybe not. My college is gay.

Gonna guess that when I get to college, cooking would probably be calculus.
