Quote:Mark Romanek ("Never Let Me Go," "One Hour Photo") has emerged as frontrunner to direct the film adaptation of Dan Brown's best-selling novel"The Lost Symbol" for Sony Pictures says Deadline.
The third book and film to feature symbologist Robert Langdon following "Angels & Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code", the story is set around Washington DC where the head of the Smithsonian Institute has been kidnapped and Langdon gets mixed up in a tale blending the Freemasons, Noetic Science and a killer tattooed from head to toe.
Ron Howard, who helmed the first two films, opted out of directing this one and will instead produce with Brian Grazer. Tom Hanks, who played Langdon in the first two films, is expected to reprise the role but no commitment has been made at this point.
I'm actually excited for this movie. I really liked reading Dan Brown's novels, specially "Angels & Demons" and "The Lost Symbol". I'm even more excited this movie gets a new director, who possibly will stay close to the original story.
I can't wait for it to be released on screen.

You should read the Robert Langdon series. I enjoyed a lot "Angels & Demons". It's a really good book, and the author manages to make some great mysteries.
"The Lost Symbol" film will probably make some people angry, but it's going to be awesome.
It's also the last one with Robert Langdon, thanks to the events in it.

"really good"
What the hell is wrong with you, man?
The plot is okay, the writing is horrendous, and the topics are inane.
And yet the catholic church still takes it seriously.

It's a thriller. I love thrillers. Thrillers are good books for movies.
I'm judging Lost Symbol by the commercial aspect, not the literary acclaim.
And the Lost Symbol has nothing to do with the Catholic Church.

:f6:
"The Lost Symbol" has next to nothing to do with the church. It's plot revolves around United States foundations.
I enjoy reading Dan Brown's work. Although his early work always ended the same, the later books are amazing.
IMO.

Some people hate Southperry.
Does that has anything to do with this conversation?

Yes, they must be burned at the stake like the dirty freemasons should be.
Next question?

MANY Freemasons are catholic. They are indeed one of the biggest organizations in the world, and of course some obscure organization needed to be added for mystery.
