So the Vita finally got a western (and eastern...ish) release date: February 22nd. I guess now that we have a solid date a topic dedicated to all things Vita, like the 3DS thread, is in order. And who better than to head it up than Southperry's best video game topic hostess?!
Let's start with the poll...!

I find that paying for the 3g version is a waste of time and I will enjoy my Wifi goodness.

Participating in the discussion since Singapore will probably get it the same day.
I don't think there's any point in getting a 3G Vita. ._.

Definitely Wi-Fi version, dunno if I'll get it at launch though, because it's in February.
Maybe I can ask for it as a super late B-Day present, similar to what I did for the 3DS lol.

I'm probably not going to get one ever. I'd prefer to get a 3DS if anything.

Not buying one. In order for me to buy a handheld console it has to be extremely revolutionary. The last handheld to do that, in my opinion, was the Gameboy color.

You're either a fool or very young if you can't comprehend the significant impact the Gameboy Color had on portable gaming.

I'm not "very young", but my age has nothing to do with this. You're waiting for something that will never come. Unless you decide to completely ignore all video game advancements for the next 10 years and then decide "Lo, something revolutionary at last!" At this point in time there's no feasible way to make some handheld super system without it being so pricey it's beyond the reach of the average consumer's wages. It's just not going to happen. I'm surprised the Vita's as cheap as it is already.
And as I said before, COLOR. Oh man. My opinion on that matter isn't going to change.

inb4 Virtual Reality is the only thing he'll consider "Revolutionary" after the GBC.

So I should settle for the mediocrity of current handhelds? I really can't fathom why people overpay for handhelds that only emulate last gen technology. I'm glad the Vita has decent hardware in it, but still nothing has convinced it as a selling point for me. $250 for a portable PS3 with less capabilities than a PS3?

Overpaying is a matter of opinion. As far as I am concerned, it's cheap.

This
$250 is cheap for all that is under the hood. I wont be missing out on this. Cause i guarantee they will make the 2nd gen ones have cheaper hardware.
Their are people that are willing to put down $450 dollars for an iphone 4s that is not even that "new" change in the camera and dual core. Yet it sold 4 million units in a week? Compared to that the vita is dirt cheap

Why buy consoles / handhelds at all when they're inferior to the PC?

Are you meaning to imply that the gameboy color somehow broke that trend in the first place and was "revolutionary" in that sense? The N64 was out two years before the color and had superior hardware. What you're saying is making no sense in my mind at all. Handhelds will ALWAYS be behind the current gen consoles / will NEVER be caught up to PC hardware.
