『メイプルストーリー』、大規模アップデート“レジェンド”間もなく実装！
本日よりティザーページを公開！

　オンラインゲーム配信事業を行う株式会社ネクソン（本社：東京都中央区、
代表取締役社長：崔 承祐/チェ・スンウ　以下ネクソン）は、2Dアクション
オンラインゲーム『メイプルストーリー』において、「レジェンドアップデート」
を10月19日（水）に実施します。これに先立ち、本日10月7日（金）より
ティザーページを公開します。
　レジェンドアップデートでは、新しく3職業がゲーム内へ追加されます。
10月19日(水には、そのうちの2職業「キャノンシューター」と「メルセデス」が
、11月16日（水）には「デーモンスレイヤー」を実装します。
　大砲「ハンドキャノン」を武器とし、派手な範囲攻撃が得意な「キャノンシューター」
、専用の両手武器「デュアルボウガン」を使いこなす「メルセデス」、そして
モンスターを攻撃することによってたまる特殊エネルギー「デーモンフォース」
を消費してスキルを使う「デーモンスレイヤー」、それぞれ独自の魅力を持った
3職業です。
　アップデートに先立ち、メイプルストーリー公式サイト内のティザーページにて、
3職業の過去のエピソード、スキルアニメーション、アップデート内容、そして
レジェンドアップデートのプロモーションムービーなどをご紹介しています。

About half way down the first section, you'll see the link to the teaser page they said they're planning to open to the public at around 18:00 Japan time today (That would be about 5AM Eastern Daylight Time).　They also said, unlike what the current quests in-game indicate, that Demon Slayer is also to be implemented on November 16th (Cannon Shooter and Mercedes to be implemented on October 19th).


That's about all of the information they give on the update, aside from discussing what kinds of classes they are. We'll find more out in 55 minutes or so!

Why do I get the feeling NexonAmerica and JMS are competing, in some way?

ShiKage, is JMS ready for the 3 new classes? I mean, you didn't got chaos complete if I recall correctly.

It should be... interesting, how JMS implements the classes and/or changes.

Well... We only didn't get PvP from the Renaissance updates. I don't see why we're not ready. They're just new classes, really. The only big surprise is that we're getting this before the MapleStory Jump! update.

Indeed. Oh well. Cannon Shooter will be feeling some love from me, since I've already played Mercedes and Demon Slayer in KMS. Plus, I already have equipment for a Pirate, none for an Archer and almost none for a Warrior. lol

Those are just the same images KMS used when they introduced Legend the first time. I'm pretty positive it'll be the exact same way they were implemented in KMS.

I like that part that 専用の両手武器.

The BGM which starts around 0:33.. is just SO epic.. I wonder if it's going to be an in-game BGM, since they used other in-game ones too.. :f6:

It would be great for a fight against the Black Mage, or that right before the one against him.

Now, I will begin by saying this : Maple Road dialogs they release aren't always accurate - meaning that they give hints to stuff that may not be implemented. That said, they're talking about some interesting stuff here.

They start off saying "Legend!" and talking about the monkey Cannon Shooter tags along with and how there's a new area near Ellinia with a bunch of elves (obviously Mercedes' town - Eurel). They continue talking about MapleStory : Legend updates with talk about the new speed boost (20% base speed increase for all classes). Now... here's the part that caught my eye :

They start talking about a Safari -- it should be obvious what this is. They continue to talk about the car (The one that leads you to Monster Park) and how the NPC reminds them of Monster Carnival (Spiegleman). They then start talking about how it's the 100th Maple Road and in the same line, they reveal something we didn't expect - Magician Jump update. Now, when I read "魔法少年," I didn't initially think "Magician Jump," I just thought it was something they were blabbering on about with some event or something. But then they start talking about the Warriors, Archers and Cygnus classes. Obviously, they're talking about the MapleStory : Jump update.

That's all of the really surprising information they revealed. They go on to hint about the Halloween events and the events for Cannon Shooter and Mercedes (the one currently going on) that give an EXP boost if you use the potions on those characters.


The bottom line is : We're getting MapleStory : JUMP! and MapleStory : Legend in one patch.

Hmm I thought that part of the BGM was just a slowed down version of the BGM played in the KMS Legend trailer

It's always the same thing: People get something later, but get a bonus.
Now JMS overtook GMS.
Aahahahahaanyway. They get "resistance capsules" fir CS and MC.


...quite a shame, tough. Trying to balance classes while giving OP classes. At least DS is just later at the party.

GMS will counter attack this month... expect Cannon Shooter in this month patch and Mercedes and DS in the next... GMS don't want to be beaten by JMS right now...

Lol so true how both DS and Mercedes got animated trailers and CS only got some copy pasted images. Just more and more proof about how Nexon doesn't give a pineapple about pirates. I just hope this changes when we get the Pirate legend someday.

I also get the feeling JMS is racing GMS on being the most up to date version of MS. Difference is JMS is actually competent and can implement these updates without messing everything up. GMS has other problems to deal with right now. We don't need Legend yet, it can wait until middle December.

Who cares about JMS... we have capture the flag!

Ahaha that was a good toradora reference.

Even if GMS releases its Legend classes within the next 2 months to try and compete with JMS, I feel that JMS > GMS because of the fact that their Empress isn't glitched (amoung other things). They seem to have their pomegranate together a lot more than Nexon America does.
