Should I get Genesis 30 or wait until the mini-dungeon event starts again?
#1
As title says, I'd like some suggestions.

I'm near 3k Maple Crystals. Tomorrow I'm going to get 3k. I'm at 2980 ATM :f6:

So yeah.. I don't know. Genesis 30 most likely deflated in price so if it was worth about 500m before, now it's probably worth like 100m or less.
Same for all other skillbooks.

I'm wondering if they'll remove some prizes (like Mastery Books) next time, or if they'll be adding new ones that require more crystals, and are even more expensive (like one of the new chairs, elemental wands <-- lol , etc.).

I'd be glad to wait if they added new rewards like those.

Or maybe the rewards will be the same, and waiting will be useless.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Biggrin

Need before greed.

Get any crossbow master (or whatever they're called) mastery books.

Try books that are expensive like hell (popular ones that come out of HT works)

Ex: TT30, if that helps. xD

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Terrible idea. Get ONE xbowmaster book, or MANY xbowmaster books from the meso from an expensive book...

Get gene 30, it's still worth 500m+ in bera

Crossbow mastery books aren't worth jack sh'it; why in the hell would you waste nearly two weeks worth of crystal hoarding on something that's only worth at MOST 10m, while the same amount of crystals can nab you something worth 500m?

Just save your crystals; chances are that next month's Dungeon Quests will have rewards that differ from what we currently have. Remember, pirates are coming out in November. Perhaps they'll add the Lord Pirate chair to the Dungeon Quest rewards; imagine how much that'd sell for.

Save up and be patient.

Thanks Greg. Finally a REAL suggestion.

Anyone else wants to give me a suggestion?

Thanks for the flame, I really needed that. You couldn't have just said, "No, don't really do that, crossbow mastery books aren't worth that much. Just stick with Genesis." No, you have to be a peach.

I learn from my mistakes, but I won't take pomegranate from some random flamer who I've never even seen before.

Anyway, to combat, apparantly, I was wrong. I didn't know that the price of crossbow mastery books were so low, so I apologize for my ignorance. Just stick with Genesis.

I don't think anything I said was directed to you, sir. Honestly, if I left out "jack sh'it" and "hell", you probably would've agreed with me. Some people just can't handle some profanity anymore.

Well, who was the person in this thread who mentioned xbow mastery books? The only one who gave them as an idea?

*thinks for an hour*

It's quite obvious who that was directed at, even if you didn't directly state it.

My last post in this thread because I feel a flame war brewing, and I don't feel like getting banned or acting like an idiot for more than three posts.

I heard this type of event was hosted on a different version of MS (KMS?) before coming to GMS. I did not hear about it repeating though, so it might be a one-time only thing based on that observation. It was on a thread here btw, try searching it up xD

Quote:Hello, Maplers!

Many players have been training in our event mini dungeons and collecting Maple Crystals to exchange them for any of many awesome rewards that are offered. Unfortunately, the event is coming to an end soon... as it was just planned out for 2 weeks... which is why we decided to bring it back in November.

Event mini dungeons will close as planned on October 28th, 2008, but will re-open in mid-November. So, hold on to your Maple Crystals and we'll let you know when they're back!

Happy Mapling!

Don't worry, it's OK. Wink

Right!! That's a great idea!! Some of them would be worth even more than 500m, expecially the first months of the release of Pirates.

WTH? so much price change in servers -____-

Genesis 30 in scania is like 750mil xD
TT 30 is like 600 mil now?

Yeah those 2 are your best bet along with maybe MW 20? ionno HT only books are worth more. If anything get SE 20(if you can get it) since that couble benefit you in the long run or you can sell for 150 mil

Prices have dropped considerably... Genesis 30 is about 400~500mil, and I'm not too sure about Triple Throw 30 (maybe 300mil?)

For me, I preferred to get the Chairs over Genesis 30 since you can only get the chairs from the event. You can always get the skills anytime, by either paying a huge sum of money or going to HT. In my opinion, the Chairs are priceless and much more worth it to get; not to mention I already have Max Genesis Rolleyes.

If you need it then get it. Otherwise if you want it to sell it then dont bother get it. I'd say still get it, I mean you've come so far already so get it or try aim for the chairs if you can.

It's not 100m or less. Tongue
This happened yesterday:
 Spoiler
Biggrin

IF you know anything about economy:

1) There are people who gather crystals faster (Mages, Bishops, Mass mobbers, ect) They got their skillbooks a few days ago. Out of those people, most of them chose Gen 30.
This prompts the bishop population who hasn't done the quest, to buy the books, in which half of them fail (50% rate on the Skill no?)

2) The second wave, those who can mob decently, but not faster than the first wave, got their skillbooks yesterday. This prompts the bishop population who still hasn't passed the book (50% of them left) to buy the books, in which half of them fail.

3) The slow wave, such as the one you're in... gets your book around now. By now, there are only 1/4th of the bishops who haven't done the quest needing to buy a book out of the huge supply as more and more people get their books.

Thus, the price is deflating, BUT...

1) New priests become bishops.

2) Merchants buying the book to hopefully form a monopoly on the book. (Actually, that'd be a pretty wise thing to do if you have the mesos.)

3) Books are being failed.

Eventually, I estimate, in a month, you'll have your books back to about 550 mil and stay stable at that price.

Now, to answer your question. Likely, they will change the prizes. However, the prize might not necessarily be greater and by holding your crystals, you'd be taking a gamble, because the prizes might either be untradeable or what not.

So, I highly suggest getting a Gen book. If you don't like the price, at least you can wait it out until the price goes higher. And even if you sell off your Gen book with the deflated current prices, you'd still be making a major profit.

I have a sneaking suspicion that when this event is extended into November, they'll add Pirate skillbooks to the reward list.

I don't have any proof to support that, but it's a good way to get them out there and they'd be worth a fortune. They'd certainly get people doing the event too.

Which pirate skillbook, then, would be the best choice? Picking any random pirate skillbook would be a gamble if you don't know which one to get.
Plus, there would be a lack of demand from the pirate population (which at the moment is nonexistent), so the prices wouldn't be very high either.
