Another Nexon Mistake
happylight Wrote:Same way they whisper spam you. You didn't think they were typing out each whisper did you?
Uhm wisper spam works via macro's (repeated keystrokes) via in-game maple commands (but the client throttle is hacked out).

The way this works is totally different, it's almost direct database-read out data, the strange part is that they could read-out this many at once.

So I guess it's a manually made maple client (totally different that the normal one) that reads out MTS data on database level (not via in-game commands). I can't think of any other way to get this much data at once.

P.S. Thread is still up on Nexon forums, almost 2 hours... oh my...
Edit: Oh no, there is another thread on the Nexon forums which is up for more then 8 hours now... o.0

Please just accept the fact you don't understand a thing about how packet editing works, and that this isn't the appropriate place to look for a lesson on it, and stop trying to share your own ideas about how they do these things that just confuse people more by making them think you understand what's going on.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

No. It's sending packets without using the client. They can send whatever they want. Request MTS item list, whispers, malformed packets to crash channels, malformed packets to DC a specific character, etc.

Oh I do understand how pe works, however it still doesn't explain how much data is read-out at once, unless Nexon has a ID-broadcast server or something. It's 19.000 ID's...

All I'm saying is that this is not the basic stuff like pe item duping etc...

But ok i'll stop posting about it now, dont want to get you upset! Wink

You serious? when was item duping ever easy? this MTS hack is simple as hell any newb can do it. Duping requires luck and alot more skill than this.
interesting

Spamming packets and crashing a channel is hard.
Dark Link Wrote:Spamming packets and crashing a channel is hard.

Is this sarcasm? If so you do know finding a channel crash packet is like finding 1,000 dollar ticket on the floor.

Yeah man, it's so rare that I must have been dreaming when Khaini was getting channel crashed every few minutes, back when it was all the rage, by a dozen++ people.

Remember that server crash packet back in the day? That was some funny stuff.

not like any server crash packet has been public for a while Tongue

Edit: You do know there's private groups that do that all the time right...
well, pomegranate
time to go re-randomize my pw/pic

A TON of people from Bello are on that list.....

the ch/server method crash are only released to the public when it get leaked and whoever found it spam every hacking forum so people will abuse it to get it patched fast.

spamming a packet is easy, but find said packet to be spammed isn't

BITS AND BYTES AND STUFF, BRO!

Seriously, could you bother reading what Eos said?
"...stop trying to share your own ideas about how they do these things that just confuse people more by making them think you understand what's going on."

All it would take is a script to take the data output from the server and add it to a document.
You're acting like those 19,000 IDs had to be grabbed simultaneously.

As far as the list itself goes, I'm not on there (not that it matters. lulz), but I am a little surprised that my brother's isn't either.
just a quick update, a certain hacking site removed the list from it's site, so did basil, and it hasn't been posted here, dunno about other sites.
I removed my stuff from MTS pretty fast yet it was still on the list. I'm guessing the person who did this had the method before the public release. Well to be honest, I think a vast majority of you people are overreacting to the ID thing. A bunch of people of my BL are cleaning out their accounts and stuff. Really there isn't much people can do with your ID alone now, sure back then Jimmy, Mikey and Bruno were able to brute into your account by changing the email redirect to theirs supposedly but the site has changed and so have hacking methods. Stop being afraid.
I wonder if the original list will be taken down after some time.

i honestly don't know for how long this has been released, but it was most def around since before the public release, and also seeing how the MTS hasn't changed (afaik) in ever, it was probably around looong before the first guy even noticed about it.

@above: seeing how the place where they are uploaded says "expires in 364 days"...
Is the list still viewable? I want to see if my accounts are on there Sad

*probably are, but I still want to check...)

It was up on facebook long enough for there to be a zillion copies all over the 'net and on people's personal comps.

IDK about that. Admittely I don't follow "those sites" and have no clue what's possible, but a whole lot of people have been hacked recently. MapleStory Adventures link was suspected, also other possibilities, but it's not impossible that whoever found this stupid security hole used it for a good long while before the exploit - and the list - went public. And not all the people who got hacked had easy passwords.

So, I do take some precautions, like moving stuff I don't use regularly to mule accounts who've never touched MTS.
Better safe than sorry.
