There was at least a PIC bypass at some point. When a GM in scania accidentally smega'ed his login/pass, Ecko was on the GM char within minutes.

And I'm pretty sure he exclaimed that he can get into anyone's account given just the login. But I guess that's just hearsay.

Anything's possible, but people said he supposedly "Copypasta'd" his User/Pass on the notice by mistake. Whether that's true or not...yeah.

If I remember correctly, it was on the scroller on the top of the screen.

Well, a particularly retarded GM copy pasted a broadcast message to each world via notepad and managed to include his login/pass;

Maple does automatically copy the contents of text boxes (login screen, trade windows, storage guy, anywhere you have a text input), I've had my user ID accidentally get into pastes sometimes.

I'm paying enough attention that I don't send after that, but I imagine the GM job's pretty boring.

While a charming anecdote, they publicly admitted he was using a clipboard manager and screwed it all to hell.

During our 2x EXP weekend event, a MapleStory GM named “RavenSCA” made a critical error while drafting an in-game announcement. The GM in question accidentally posted his account information while using a text shortcut program meant to issue commands within MapleStory. This was a serious breach of protocol, and the GM will be disciplined. In addition, we’re investigating the actions of a player who abused this error, which is a serious breach of our Terms of Use.
We hope this information can shed some light for our players. Due to the sensitive nature of the problem, we will have no more information to provide on this topic, and we ask players to please avoid discussing the matter on our forums.

Didn't all of our old info get leaked out during that massive database compromise? Nexon IDs don't change, iirc.

ID list is real. Without bypasses, people will only target popular/well known rich people. I don't think there's any possible way to get any further information with just ID.

My account seems to not be on there, but still I will take all security measures I can. Better to be safe than sorry.

Everyone on that list who is famous or well known, I'd advise you to stay logged in to your acc.
They can't hack you with just your login I'd, but the real danger is being deliberately locked out of your account because of too many failed password attempts.

They removed too many wrong pws bans.

I was linked a list full of ID. I think it was only Yellonde though. Mine was there, never removed anything from MTS, I guess I dont care enough. I have so much stuff in MTS that finding space for it would take a century.

Crap. That list really sucks. Anything I can do to secure my account, not just my items? As my best item is completely untradeable and easily dropped/deleted.
