Trade hack is back? Also.. I got hacked.

StopMe Wrote:Considered and not possible.

I as well as many others who use facebook and have had our MS accounts hacked know not to use the same email, password, etc. We didn't even play the FB game.

I'm pretty sure it's random guess and check, because if the person did have access to my accounts... they would have taken the 3 tril instead of the 20b.

That sounds like whoevers responsible is selling info's to meso sites.

Could easily be possible.
The person who I found had the equips had severely broken English and had no knowledge of prices what so ever.

The account was one of the first hacked in the recent strings.

I noticed it was:
-Hacked 2 hours AFTER a server check.
-Items were taken very slowly (I let them, I was more interested in finding out who it was then mesos).
-Again, the account was left untouched besides the items.
-The account was played on<<<<

This is definitely not a professional job, lol.
I mean, if the person who had hacked the account had changed a number in the user, they could have easily got a lot more money (All the other information was the same, excluding the PIC being 6 consecutive other digits).

This is a child and nothing more.

Of course, nothing in that thread has anything to do with anyone being hacked.
Just put it there to show how common it has become, as well as the SW version.

Edit: To the people doubting to the legitimacy of being able to hack an account without the information being given out somewhat willingly, I was a skeptic as well.
Until it happens to you, it is understandable to doubt this.

KhainiWest Wrote:You mean like your assumption? Sorry I don't have my maplestory timeline out right now but it was between 08-09 as that's when I took my break for about a year.
If the breach was in 08-09, then your "friends who were mutilated in like 09" would have been hacked after those lists were released, not before. Follow a conversation or don't participate.

KhainiWest Wrote:Now it is, it wasn't before, or are you new to maplestory? In fact I believe your email wasn't even available unless you went through pay by cash at one point. Evidently you don't know about the most recent exploits, which is why you're trying to make an excuse for someones ignorance. That's fine and dandy, but the latest "exploit" was revolved around a hacker getting your IP address through MSN on a bowling invitation, then ask for a password reset through the MSN reset form. They evolved and adapted it as time went on to affect google and AIM. Never cracked yahoo by my knowledge.
I'm talking about now.
Now, knowing someone's ID is useless if you already have their email address.
Now, having someone know your ID doesn't help with pomegranate.

Not sure what relevance the recent exploit has since clearly not everyone getting hacked was using MSN.
Or Google.
Or that relic from the 90s.

Follow a conversation or don't comment on it. The second quote has nothing to do with the first.
The latter is in reference to the past while the former references the current situation.
On a related note, are you and Takebacker related?

KhainiWest Wrote:You'd think such a maplestory "encyclopedia" would know how to get their email changed within a few weeks, like, hey guess what, I did.
What "encyclopedia" are you referring to?

I'm glad you were successful in changing your email address, but stating so without giving a method is just being a braggard.
Then again, Nexon's customer service is inconsistent, so asserting that you did some thing "right" while others are doing something "wrong" is just asinine.
More than likely, you got pineappleing lucky.

For fu`ck sake take your own advice. Did "being sold off as fresh meat" imply anything to you? They got hacked before the lists were released, and info was on the lists a couple of weeks after. I'm going off memory here, so "like 09", which you said was between 08-09, was a rough guess, the "like" was meant to say "Somewhere around that time, as I'm not certain" all in one word.

Viaje Wrote:I'm talking about now.

It doesn't matter what you're talking about, he's talking about previously to the update of the website, that if they have your ID you're extremely vulnerable. Which is true because in the past they just needed your email address in order to bypass your password. Which even now is true. You see that now, because it is currently still true.

Viaje Wrote:Not sure what relevance the recent exploit has since clearly not everyone getting hacked was using MSN.

They were able to do this with MSN/Gmail/AIm, which from my understanding has a high population of users. Considering the current circumstances the password not being changed, it's a different method. However I'm not arguing that, but eos asked why the IP was important, that is why. Please take your own goddam advice so you don't like a hypocrite.

Kind of like what you have at the bottom of your post in your signature..? Disregarding your blatent hypocritisy, let's discuss how they aren't related?

The methods on this very site lmfao. I could change any email address within 4-6 weeks. I guess that's the benefit of doing your own research. See the thing of the email change is it bypasses the whole ticket bull sh`it.

Got the NX, when the game's back up, I'll see if I can find a cheap 10att in the MTS. Was planning on picking up a few anyway since I'm down to 5m after scrolling shenanigans.

No I'm not saying you gave your info out because compared to other places SP users actually have some logic about them. But what I mean is it just seemed like the stars were aligned too much for you to NOT get hacked.

Seriously. @Viaje and @KhainiWest are both so ignorant and pointless. Add eachother on MSN/Xfire/Skype or whatever you use and cry there. That argueing you both do (especially @Viaje what I've seen) is really annoying.

Back on topic, though, it's rather impossible to be 'trade hacked'. It would make more sense if your friend was either hacked or somewhat reckless in a trade or something. Trade hack or character take-over videos on YouTube are all fake and done with the same person to make it look realistic. You barely see threads about someone being trade hacked. There are people who have items worth ten times at much as your equips (no offense, mine are worse) and they don't get trade hacked or anything.

I am sorry for your loss, though.

I agree with this. That's something I don't understand. There are people with much higher valuable items and yet the people who have nothing are the ones getting hacked. Doesn't exactly make sense to me I'm sorry..that's why I'm always skeptical about this.

If it's random like the above has spoken, and clearly uneducated with the game, then it most likely is random occurances. I could not know your account information solely by seeing your ID randomly, unless I was specifically looking for you.

True but eh. The times I were hacked was because of my own stupidity and my friends.(I was 10 give me a break) That's all. It's never been random.

Um. No?

http://nxcache.nexon.net/nexon/customer-...ctions.pdf[/QUOTE]

That is not the form I was originally linked to through my tickets. Link is much appreciated.
I also find it interesting that no characters have been deleted, at least that I have heard of.
Since the PIC is needed for this, would it mean that a PIC bypass is being used?

For both we know they could have used the basic injector they used for ps3 lol

Not sure how relevant this is, but if my account does get hacked, I want to ensure my characters are not deleted. Is it true that a character with locked items cannot be deleted?

Characters that blew up their weddings rings can't.

That I'm aware of, but wedding >>> item lock in price, so I want to confirm before buying anything.

This is what I dont really get either. And the person in question is something who I (I think) know so i'll
talk to him once I get the chance on another account and see what will do or have to say about my
questions to him. Something around the line of if hes selling 12% str shoes or 15% str earings etc.
(The only items who I really really want back that cost me 3.5b In total wich is so... so... freaking much
for me :L) Or any of those items for that matter. I've been tracking him since the moment my friend told him so
I bet he MUST have them if hes not lying to me. So its either this really happend or my friend is lying.
I just dont get why he would take everything besides my Heavenly Messenger. Although... Im really starting
to think its my friend, and I bet others do so too...

"They beat me up and took everything but I managed to protect this..."

Isn't exactly a new scam. It's a simple means of preserving trust so you can hit the mark again later when they've rebuilt themselves and have more to take.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

Can someone change the title, I mean seriously. A trade hack?
Can't it be something better like, "Has anyone gotten hacked recently?"
