It could be pretty awesome if the game trolled you to get the girl and the the goal was instead to get the item just before her. Like in your picture, you'd be tempted to get the girl after the backpack, but you can't and when you get the backpack the level ends there.

Anyways, yesterday I was hanging out with my girlfriend, we came up with more ideas, so most of the work was written and talked about. And today I'm feeling a bit sick, so I don't know how much I'll do.

In the meantime, here's a shot of Sarah's sheep suggestion and a new item, a backpack. It's like the goal for the level, like Mario reaching the castle's flag and Sonic making the sign spin.

Because I am sure some people would recognize it and remember the game we all waste over 9000 hours on.

Reminds me of rotting skeletons...

Awesome stuff. Big Grin

Is there any particular reason why you're using Flash-based engines?

I find it easier to start with Flash and can be easily shared with other people through sites, instead of having people download and .exe and running it.

After this, I might try some XNA.

Dude Loose, this is really incredible stuff you got going on. Keep going with it, the feeling of having a project and working hard on it is rewarding in the end.

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

The test level is up and everything seems to be going great. I'll start implementing the background now.

You should implement him falling out of a plane in the background at random.

Can now be tested:

Tell me what you think of the physics. Movement and jump feel right?

Feels right. Has a nice gravity effect that speeds up your falling from heights. It will feel natural with a background implemented.

It does seem somewhat slow, but hey.... if we have to fight an onslaught of things, it wont be that bad.

O.O IF YOU FIRE A WEAPON, CAN YOU MAKE US HAVE RECOIL? Like in Cave Story or Super Crate Box?

... also try out Super Crate Box if you havnt already.

It might be my lack of recent playing of online flash games but I really, really enjoy the fluidity of the movements.
