Then buy another round to increase your chances of +1 shoulders, scroll each one with 1 scroll and keep the ones that didn't explode. Fuse the rest.

Once satisfied with adequate of +1s, scroll again. keep all. Attempt another round- if multiple +3s YAY. If not get the old +1s and scroll their last slot.

Potential each one with 70% or 90%

I think I'd rather just use the scrolls until I get all 3 to pass and then buy like 6 ish of the scrolls and wait until Shielding Wards come back and White Scroll/Ward the last 2 slots on. I really don't want to risk blowing up 2 freshly used hammers.

It'll end up costing you more on average since wards cost so much.

Depends what you want to risk. Either boom boom or end up with the same or crap stats.

Cost by slot:
+1: 2 armor + 2 scrolls = 35m
+2: 2x+1 + 2 scrolls = 90m
+3: 2x+2 + 2 scrolls = 200m
+4: 2x+3 + 2 scrolls = 420m
+5: 2x+4 + 2 scrolls = 860m
Warding will cost an average of 2 wards + 2 WS = 1.3bil per slot. Not cost effective.

I'm pretty sure he means that if you failed a slot (therefore leaving you with an unscrolled two slot shoulderpad), you fuse them together and get a 3 slot in return to re-scroll.

that only works with classes with that fusing ability which many people dont have on their main and since the pad is untradable...its probably easyer to just re-buy

You can always restart your profession. I did that with smithing (had level 9) and moved to crafting to create shoulderpads (which won't be a business after this comes out, lol). I would agree on the part where it is probably easier to just re-buy, especially if you have a high level profession.

Quick question though since I didn't see it in this thread, how much do the 'normal' scrolls give in terms of attack? Regardless, I can put that 100% potential scroll to use now

In the testpia i got a belt to +3 and since the scrolls have the same rates (50% and 50% boom) then it shouldnt be to hard to get a +3 shoulderpad
i will for 1 make one with chaos and maybe or get +3 then hammer and chaos it
sucks that there untradeable i was hoping to make some mesos with these shoulder pad or stalk them for future characters (if they were untradeable after warn)

Even without the scrolls or potential, the shoulder is already better than what i have on my Battle Mage. So this equip rules so hard.

My friend wanted the level 120 wise should pads for his Evan so bad, and needed me to make them. I literally spent all my Friday night pvping to get enough emblems. I finally do, and just before I make, I'm finally contacted about buying the Rising Sun Belt I've been after... I decide to ignore my needs, and make his emblem anyway...

Now, it's not like I, selfishly, wish I didn't make that decision already. I now know that if I hadn't, we'd have BOTH been better off. lol Awesome.

They did come out 1 above average in matt, and everything else average. So, they aren't bad, and he probably can't afford the amounts of mesos I'm about to put into this shoulder pad, not to mention the NX spent cubing this thing to hell and back.

The 120 Shoulderpads are an absolute waste.
Go 110 for tradeability or 130 for extra attack.
You(he) got lucky that it came out one above average.

Whatever the angle, you got ripped off.
- You could have easily sold that shoulderpad and ended up with enough money for him to make an even better one in a few days.
- Those emblems could have been used or saved for plenty of better investments. Or, ya know, wait until Jump to just buy the Rising Sun recipes.
- Your friend invested absolutely nothing in nor gave nothing back.

Really though, I hardly can feel sorry for anyone who invested in shoulderpads recently.
