Are people still debating whether the character in the trailer is Freed or not? I thought people were done with this, and that the main consensus was that it was Freed.

They're probably going to add it in with along with the revamps. The previous Jump revamps they always included something.

I still don't know why they included that feature for DRPQ. It's not even that high, my character's fallen greater distances down Ludi tower.

But I digress; true, story elements tend to contradict in-game mechanics fairly often. You never can explain one with the other with distinct certainty. Mir/Afrien (goddamn, I still believe it's Mir, and that Nexon must be misleading/pineappling stuff up somehow- too much evidence points in that direction) fires off a lightning bolt from his mouth, which he never does in-game. And Mercedes has a strange green magic circle buff that she never actually gains access to.

But there's nothing that suggests that a fall of such great height would cause Maple characters to die, either. Are there any precedents? I doubt there's ever been a story-based scene involving someone being flung off a high place prior to this. And even then the flinging's implied.

You've got me there. As far as I know, there are none.
I'm simply basing my logic on the generally accepted idea that, in most fiction, there's a limit to how far people can fall without taking unsustainable injury.
Maplestory could be an exception, of course.

My main issue is that it'd seemingly be a retcon to have the battle against the Black Mage take place inside the Temple of Time.
Then again, I've already become confused by the fact that the Heroes apparently didn't all fight the Black Mage simultaneously.

If you meant that it'd be a retcon if the final epic battle in the future took place in ToT... Well we never did know where the Black Mage was hiding.

Alternatively, if you meant that it'd be a retcon if the original battle (in which Freed and Afrien were killed, everyone else was encased in ice, etc. etc.) happened in ToT, then yes, I agree. There has been no mention of ToT within the legends' plotlines up until now, so bringing it in just before a potential ToT extension patch seems... eh... dubious.

I say it because it makes more sense. There is no prove indicating that Mercedes and Evan have met, or will met anytime soon. Freed was close to her, and would make sense if those 2 were the first to confront the black mage. The promo video could be showing their close relationship. Besides, if I remember right they speak in the full version. Maybe we could clear all of this is someone could translate what they say to each other.

Admittedly, there has been no proof indicating that Mercedes and Evan had ever met, but the very fact that Mercedes and Freed were close would make it easier for her to accept his successor. Plus, Freed and Evan look very similar. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Evan and Mercedes were also highly likely to confront the Black Mage together as close friends too. If not as close friends, then as legendary hero and successor to legendary hero. They were bound to fight the black mage eventually.

After all, that's the entire point of the legendary heroes. Destroy the black mage. Their entire plotline revolves around it. And yes, a translation of the conversation between Evan and Mercedes would help.

It is not THAT temple of time. It's most likely a new zone, as seeing that the monster seem to be different and the reaveling of the new gate. We can only wait and see to confirm this, but the monsters differences already prove my point.

They're nice promos, but one conflict with the animations that prevents me from taking them in as canon is Aran. Aran is stated in game by Freud and Maha to be a "he", even when you play as a female Aran.

Now, thanks to Demon Slayer's promos, I can just say that the animators like female characters more so than males. Female Demon Slayer has no art, yet she got a PV when male Mercedes did not... Strikes me as a little biased if I am honest.

personally, I'm gonna stick with it being Freud, which once again brings up the topic of why did they (the animation crew) make him look exactly like Evan when his in game sprite at least sports obviously lighter hair.

Although the tutorial for Demon Slayers only show up a small part of the Dark Temple, some hints are in the Game Start page of KMS.



Even the time Goddess herself appears next to the launch button. I really hope i'm not wrong and that she just appears for Demon Slayers, because it'd be pretty stupid only to add all this area, and Rhinne, the Goddess that everyone in there mentions just for a class.

Also for the fact these monsters haven't showed up in this recent patch data, in the login screen, for example, the only monster that appears is the Blue Lyka, on Demon Slayer's prologue, which means these didn't arrive yet.

Really looking forward to the fact Nexon seems to be getting back to focus on Black Mage's encounter, instead of just creating more and more servants.

I actually hate the "MUHAHAHA! I DESTROY EVERYTHING" schtick.
It's moronic.
It gives writers a free pass to give absolutely no personality or motivation to a character.

Thankfully, Nexon hasn't had the character exhibit the "all must die" madness.

PS. From what I'm reading about this Chaos fella, he didn't intend to destroy everything.
In fact, he apparently creates a time loop to sustain himself forever.

I am never going to try and reason out Nexon's portrayals of characters again. Too much trouble and everyone's conclusions wind up contrary to mine because Nexon keeps implying the reverse of what their own sprites show.

If Freed is in the trailer..where is Afrien? The 12x-200 final growth of Mir cannot be Afrien. Afrien is huge, and I'm assuming was always huge due to being King of the Onyx Dragons..even when Freed was alive..Afrien was still huge. That trailer looks to be of Evan and Mercedes fighting current day Black Mage, least that's what my perception of the video was. The cosmetic of both characters is not important in my books. The dragon beside the guy would be though.

Same reason why Shinsoo is OMGWTPHUGE in Erev, but tiny in the Empress fight in Future Erev. Hint: It obviously isn't because it shrinks with age.
