Ok, so my friend had quit for the past month at least. He logs on today, and we exchange hello's and all. He makes a comment, "Whoa, it's been 8 days past the expiration date, and my NX hasn't expired." I simply reply with, "Lucky...". So we go on and he wants to find out what's all new in MS, so I decided to take him to Singapore, since that's the only thing that hasn't been craptastical since he left. We're having fun and we're exploring. Suddenly, he is sent back to town from no where, and a ban message comes up on his window. He's all angry now.

Does anybody know why this happened?

Yeah, the autoban glitch got him. How long is he banned for?

He logged of MSN before he could tell me, but I think it's three days.

im not sure if it still works, but if you are talking about the GMPolice message with the picture of the maple administrator NPC, you can just restart your computer or terminate maplestory.exe, and as long as you dont click ok you wont get banned.

Hmm, kinda suspicious that your friend finds out the NX was suppose to expire 8 days ago when he last logged on 3 days ago =/ Then again people don't exactly pay attention to everything.

To the best of my knowledge, you don't get sent back to town if you get the GMPolice autoban message. I'm pretty sure the OP's friend got caught by a real GM. Anyone remember PatissiereMK bringing a female DK to Maple Island?

I believe that the Lie Detector objects only send you back to town when they were implemented. Then again, the lie detectors were only available for a short time because Nexon/Wizet thought people would do stupid things with them.

No, they got people AFK or in a mob to get sent back to town, iirc.

? Thats not what I asked, I asked if they are a nasty auto-version that work in a similar way to lie detectors in the sense that with a lie detector you have to input information to stop it. And with the GM police we have now, it seems like the same concept where a message pops up and you have the choice to push ok and get banned, or you can log out to get rid of it and avoid the consequences. So the GM police popping up randomly is most likely a glitch and less likely intended, and its most likely that avoiding the ban by ending the connection is not intended. So you are using a glitch to avoid a glitch lol.

I suggest you read more carefully, because I never once said he logged in three days ago. What I did say, though, was that when I talked to him, he said he got banned for three days.

TO CLEAR UP SOME STUFF;

If you have NX on your account, and let's say it expires on the 21st. You don't log on then, but on the 23rd of NEXT MONTH. Your NX will STILL be there, but it WILL dissapear soon-ish (around 5-10 mins, afaik).

Did he have any antiviruses on? They might have tried to tackle GameGuard, triggering the Autoban..

But yeah, NX doesn't expire unless you log in. My friend quit in September of last year after just purchasing NX the month before. She didn't log in at all, but started playing again in May of this year. The items were still on her character for about 5 minutes after she logged in (Just long enough for her to tell her pet she loves it).

Maybe the NX glitched and didn't expire but the server noticed it should be expired and he got autobanned? If it's a 3 day ban he should just wait it out but if it's a month or more your friend should probably log a ticket.
