Global MapleStory Timeline

I'm kinda bored so I want to create a kind of timeline for the global server, not just a timeline for all the patches or whatever but a timeline for everything that significantly affected the community. My memory kind of sucks, so if everyone can contribute, maybe we could make a great timeline for whenever we want to immerse ourselves in nostalgia

I'll start off with some examples, but remember, my memory is horrible.

Sometime in '04: Omg an actual patch notice that's not a more complete version
April '05: Ossyria strike at Ellinia station
A bit before May '05: Split into global and Maplesea
May 11 '05: Official release, 2x exp for 2? weeks, lots of deaths on the ship to orbis, lots of people stuck in El Nath
December '05: Highly anticipated third job, complete with Wizet's horrible preview
February '06: Ludibrium!
Summer '06: Zakum with the stolen Legend of Zorro ad, lol, hackers hog Broa's zakum for a long time, zakum jump quest hackings
Summer '06: Aqua, and nexon surprises us with aqua dungeon like a month later (lots of pianus suicides and hackings)
November '06: Nxgames -> Nexon
Late '06-Early '07: Huge hacker epidemic
Early '07: KFT and removal of channel 20, hacker no-tolerance policy
Summer '07: New Leaf City: excitement and cheap potions, hacker epidemic (etc explosion)
The patch after that: Himes, everyone angry because himes don't drop pyogos
Late '07: Autoban gets rid of almost all hackers
October '07: Halloween, non-nx users can't get into mansion, NLC becomes Nexon Loves Cash
November/December '07: Pumpkin Vault ruined, Black Friday/White Christmas AP reset sales cause frustration
November '07: Pumpkin pie quest, dragon knights roar the crap of Henesys hunting ground 1, subliminal messages in the 100/250nx quest, massive rollback event, 2x exp compensation
December '07: Herb Town pq, tons of complaints for not having any high-leveled content for almost a year, 4th job promotion leaked
January '08: Lots of anticipation for 4th job, 4th job is released
Early '08: Powerguard hack (level 30 warriors at skelegons), shop/dupe/fame/guild hacks
March '08: Tespia wave 1
April '08: Horntail released (killed in a couple of days and promptly monopolized), Tespia wave 2
June '08: 24+ hour patch, Tespia wave 3
Summer '08: Nexon keeps on missing the 2x exp compensation for missing the compensation
July '08: Mixed feelings about the strongest boss being a cute pink thing
August '08: Huge bigfoot controversy, elemental weapon controversy


I've obviously missed a whole ton of things, so just feel free to post. Remember, this is only a timeline of stuff that deeply affected the global community.

More like things that affected you personally.
Everybody got their own experiences with that I'd say.

Does anyone remember when exactly did the PG hacking epidemic start? Because I would assume that would have had some drastic effects on MS.

You should mention that and the Guild hacking incident, along with the so-called "compensation" Nexon gave out for the hacked guilds.

Thats more correctly stated as:
"When Nexon America rebranded itself(the "wizet"everyone refers to was NX games)".That was in fall 2005, with the cash shop being introduced a wekk or two before Halloween. It was when they flooded Kerning with unattackable monsters and the used Coolies as candy dropping monsters.

That's not a one-time thing, it has literally happened every year since 2006

Feb-June 06: Vac hacks, "no monsters in my map" (due to upper areas of maps where legits couldn't go to), most servers' top players hackers
Nov 07-Spring 08 (? approx): PG hacks, "all channels of all high hp monsters in use by hackers", rankings approximately double in number of characters
Spring 08: Shop, dupe, fame hacks... economy gets pineappleed several times.

PG hack and Guild Hack were in March-April this year. I went through every WS channel in Khaini, having fun reporting all the hackers.

I joined around May of '06, but I remember Zakum being out. Or maybe I didn't notice he wasn't out then came out. I remember Aqua coming out though.

Are you sure? I'm thinking it was 2006, because the time that they renamed themselves and the time that they flew the servers out to California seem to me to have been the same time, and I wouldn't remember it if it had happened in 2005.
