Regardless, it's a joke if you think TF2 requires any skill whatsoever.
Strategy? Yes.
Skill? LOLno.
pipe/rocket spam and carpet bombing isn't all there is to demo and soldier at all.

TF2 requires more skill than 80% of FPS.

Yeah, there's no such thing as air shots or juggling or jumping an effective distance without taking a huge chunk out of your hp. All soldiers and demos can do is spam!

Having the same issue my friend. I'm looking into router issues.

To people saying a class takes no skill just never played enough with them.

Heavy is hold and attack... But without taking care of your medic you are a dead man. Remember to heal him with your sandvich if you have one, or protect him from enemy fire. Always remember that him dead equals you dead. Also he can uber you if you protect him well enough. Also, with or without a medic, ALWAYS know when to retreat. I've seen endless heavies die hopelessly because they kept firing knowing they had a lost battle, dying, and I (as a medic, my main), get screwed, with like 90% Uber built up, all alone near enemy territory. Being a heavy, and protecting a zone with health and ammo packs is quite interesting too.

Soldier takes a different approach at aim, since you just aim to the floor to sent them flying to the next rocket you fire, or finishing off with your shotgun, for example. Of course, there's also the rocket jumping factor. It costs health, know when it's the right time.

Demomen, same as soldier, with different approach too. And Demoknight is limited enough to be more careful when to strike.

Scout is a hit and run class. Jump into battle, aim for an enemy medic or lonely target, kill/Distract/deal enough damage, and RUN. Next target, go back to the previous one if he survived, you are fast enough to do... And also, quite a nice speed to dodge stuff.

Medic. Ah, Where can I start here. If you play without people you know, it's frustrating. Because nobody knows how to protect a medic on pubs. From time to time, I've seen a friendly pyro airblast me to extinguish my burning flesh, and then retreat to find me a health pack. And then we proceeded to cause rampage on the enemy lines. But the sad truth is that most people don't even know what an uber is... Damn, I just ubered a heavy yesterday, and he STAYED ON THE RETREAT STARING AT ME. STARING. Of course, soldiers that see scouts not aiming for them think they are not their problem... WELL GUESS WHAT, SHERLOCK? I'M THEIR FUCKING TARGET. YOU DIPSHIT. And of course, once I'm dead if my syringe gun fails to do its magic, they become THEIR target too! If I survive they aren't gonna get healed by me. And that's called selective healing. Always try to heal whoever is going to do a good job. And if you aren't using the quick fix, try to overheal everyone you can. However, if you are going to pop an uber, you only have eyes for your patient.

Sniper is quite straight ahead.

Engie, just know where to place your buildings.

Pyro is more tricky than it seems. Running straight into a heavy is stupid as any class, pyro no exception. Pyros should try to ambush in the first place, and once that's out of the question, know when to retreat, or take cover. Also, against sentries, they are awesome if close enough, since they damage both the engie and the sentry with their flamethrower.

Spy, it's all about blending in. Never look your victims in the eye, or act suspiciously.

And that's the thing, mainly.

On the topic of engies, I think I reached max revenge on one sentry a while back. I just started playing engies a lot so I wouldn't know.

Being playing Scout, Medic, Soldier and Heavy from most to least played. I'll generally go for scout unless the situation calls for something else (like having no medics on the team).

I have to say none of the classes are easy mode, but Scout is damn harder.

I'd like to add to these.

Sniper: Go for head shots, and nothing else. It's a lot harder than it sounds too! Unlike Halo, or whatever other FPS is popular now days, every single enemy has a different movement speed that you'll have to adjust to. Sometimes there are people with items that will give them a quick surge of speed, such as the Charge 'n Targe, and you will have to adjust accordingly in order to get a head shot, otherwise the enemy will break through and wreak havoc on your allies. Any good sniper should also be sure to learn each enemy player's movement patterns and habits, and be sure to spy check regularly. Most veteran snipers are also able to get their cross-hairs near or on the enemy player's head before zooming in, this skill is indispensable as you have to be able to quickly shoot an enemy with or without charging up so that other snipers won't have an opening to kill you.

Engineer: Trust no one, as spies will stop at nothing to sap your buildings and back stab you while your sentry is inactive. If anyone even begins getting near one of your buildings, give him a few rounds from your shotgun or pistol. You should also have your options set so that you will see the damage you deal as well as hear a dinging noise whenever you hit an enemy, this will allow you to know who is a friend and who is a spy trying to sap your buildings. Make sure you keep your sentry gun at peak condition as often as possible, and try to find narrow doors and hallways that you can use your buildings to block off. Your allies can walk through your buildings, while enemies have to break them down to pass, use this to your advantage. Find places to set up teleporters that are out of the way or hard to reach so that spies won't sap them as often, remember that any damage done to one teleporter is also done to the other. If a spy does get through and starts sapping your buildings, then ignore the buildings and kill the spy ASAP. If you leave the spy alone, then he will come back and continue sapping your buildings or backstab you while your distracted. If you're using the Wrangler, make sure not to shoot yourself because the sentry can hurt you too; however, you can use this to your advantage as a method of getting to high ledges called "Sentry Jumping." Sentry Jumping is incredibly useful for placing buildings in places that can easily hit enemies all around the map or provide great spots for teleporters so that your team can safely travel into enemy territory, but be sure to bring enough metal with you because you won't have a dispenser when you get onto the ledge you want to reach.

Spy: First and foremost, decide on what kind of spy you want to be! You have to think carefully about your equipment setup, as it drastically affects how you're going to play as a spy. Are you going to be a spy that utilizes the default Invis Watch to move into enemy territory quickly and without stopping, or the Cloak and Dagger so that you can camp in populated areas and ambush enemies, or perhaps you want to be more offensive as a spy and use the Dead Ringer so that you can surprise enemies who think they've killed you? Well alright, now that you've made your choice as to what type of spy you want to be, you have to learn where to hide when needed, as well as some of the basic patterns your enemies follow. You'll also want to learn ways of backstabbing enemies who don't have their backs turned to you. Yes, it can be done! The hitboxes on the enemies' backs can be fickle little bastards, and depending on the situation you can get a successful backstab from the side or even the front of an enemy (frontal backstabs are known as "Face Stabs"). You must also know when to retreat and how to navigate the map backwards. If you can navigate your way back to your base or to a health pack while running backwards away from an enemy, you'll have many more opportunities to shoot him with your revolver and possibly recloak so that you can hide and get him again when he gives up on looking for you. A helpful tip to all beginner spies is BEWARE OF PYROS! Pyros can ignite you, which renders your cloak useless as well as causes damage over time, additionally their air blasts can prevent you from reaching health packs. Pyros also excel at spy checking, as their flame throwers have a decent range, fire continuously and will expose you if just one of the particles touches you. If you find a Medic + *something* pair, go after the medic first and try to get a backstab, if the other guy remains oblivious to your presence, then you may try and backstab him as well. When you see a sniper using a Razorback, do not attempt a backstab, use your revolver (preferably the Ambassador for headshot crits)! You must NEVER assume your disguise will keep you safe. Yes, the disguise kit is incredibly useful, but never assume that the enemy trusts you because of your disguise, in fact most veteran players will shoot teammates to make sure they aren't spies. While cloaked or disguised, avoid narrow or confined spaces, as enemies cannot walk through you like they can with their allies; thus, you will be exposed if you bump into an enemy or enemy building. One last tip is to use enemy buildings to your advantage while your disguised. If you see and enemy dispenser, try to get some health and ammo out of it if you need it, and when you find enemy teleporters it's a good idea to take them since they usually lead you to where the engineer has set up all of his buildings. Once you make use of the enemy buildings, sap them and see if you can get a backstab on the engineer. If the engineer is smart and tries to kill you before tending to his buildings, then run and come back later.

Another thing about Spies. Just barley get away from that pyro and now you're at low health? Switch disguises and call out for the nearest medic to heal you.. then back stab his ass. This has saved me countless times behind enemy lines, but you need to know how to be convincing in your disguises to have this work well of course.

Don't know if anybody's mentioned this before haven't bothered to read the entire thread. Hoping to have TF2 re-installed on my laptop by next week.

Never forget to act natural like this. Try to get a disguise that shows low health, and go back from the battlefront. Always act as an enemy to not look suspicious. Like not aiming directly for the medic's back, just let him heal you, while you are in front. If you are lucky, he could even waste an uber on you.

I had this happen to me once, it was funny because I couldn't really do anything with it.

With Frontier Justice, you get revenge crits when your sentry makes a kill or assist (2 crits per kill and 1 per assist). Once your sentry gets destroyed, you get the crits.

Oic, thanks. I saw it once when I played engie but wondered what it meant.

Alternatively, you could play sniper the way I do and just piss on everyone with Jarate and Sydney Sleeper. I go for the assists, not the kills.

so, I was at my friend's house last night, and she has crazzzy download speed. I ended up getting TF2 on my laptop along with about 6 other games on Steam.

Not sure if this was posted anywhere else on SP yet. Turns out there were outtakes for the Meet the Medic video. Is the teamfortress user indeed Valve? If so, nice concepts although the non-canon voices and somewhat twitchy animation were the only problems. If not, it's still very nice fanmade videos theorizing how the Medic came to be.
