Steam Summer Camp Sale

Steam started their summer sale today. As with the christmas one, they have a lot of stuff marked down as well as entire packages from publishers and whatnot.

I'm hoping (probably won't happen) that Darkspore gets a price drop. I'll probably buy the entire Magicka pack since it's down to $16 at the end of the sale if I can afford it (kind of broke right now).

I don't really agree with the Prize Booth as it's "play these games and earn achievements to get tickets to unlock things in other games!" I actually bought Toki Tori because I saw it listed as $1.25. I tried the demo out and enjoyed it, so yea. And there's 3 items I want, so it'd be a total of 9 tickets to get them all. Will be interesting to see how the activities go for the next week and a half.

Anyways, what games is everyone looking to buy/already bought/hoping for a daily deal on?

The Prize Booth is slightly better than the TF2 "do all this to get hats!" thing last time, which I'm still bitter about since it wouldn't let me get the hat without owning the game (which I didn't at the time), so all the stuff I did was worthless. :x

I hope they don't do that, I want to buy SpaceChem some time in the future but it would be useful if I could get the mappack already.

Other games I want to buy for a lower price: Portal 2 (Even more lower!), SpaceChem, Cities in Motion, Garry's Mod (already -75%, so I'm probably going to buy it) and Pokernight at the Inventory. Maybe Left 4 Dead (2) if it's really low so I can play it with some friend who already own it.

I'm probably going to pick up Poker Night at the Inventory as well, if only for the TF2 exclusives. Still, I think $3 dollars justifies the game itself - it's a decent texas hold 'em game.

I've amassed 3 tickets so far (Joined the Group, had Swords and Soldiers from a Bundle a couple of weeks ago, and just bought Tori Toki so I got that one as well). It showed me this when hovering over the SpaceChem map:

Which would make me think you could choose it even if you don't own the game.

Also, that's not to say it won't be released afterward. I was looking at the Facebook page for A.R.E.S.: Extinction Agenda's development team and they made a post about a DLC for the game.

Do you think that a new suit that comes with special weapon fit well with the $0.99 price? The idea is you can buy this suit and equip it from the beginning but cannot change weapon while you are wearing it since the gun is embed to the suit. The weapon will be a very cool one but you will take more dmg while wearing the suit. It will be another challenge for you who want the game to be harder.

While not naming it specifically, it sounds exactly like the current prize that's available. Which leads me to believe that most of the "game-impacting" items would become DLCs after the Summer Camp Sale. Items such as the Summer Shades for TF2, which are appearance only, would be available during the Summer Camp and nothing else.

Just a guess though.

^At least a few of the downloadable items are dlcs from older games (for example, the defense grid dlc has been out for a long time)

Ah, okay. I just noticed that all of the prizes that apply to games I own are new things - the suit for A.R.E.S., the PvP map for Magicka (well I don't own it yet, but been watching it like a hawk lately) and the shades for TF2.


99% sure I'll be purchasing Braid later tonight. $2.50 for it for the day and I've heard good things. Not sure about getting anything else though.

I love these sales. I purchased Super Meat Boy and Magicka today. I also got 3 tickets and traded them in for the Steampunk Characters Set for Killing Floor, then I spent the next hour just trying to decide what games to put in my top 10 on my Wishlist, just in case I won the drawing.

Not sure yet, but I'm still considering picking up the Half-Life pack, too.

If only I had more money...probably a good thing I don't, actually.

Picked up the complete Magicka Pack ($8.50 for EVERYTHING? Heck yes!) as well as Plants vs Zombies (I've played the iPhone version, decided to check out the PC one as I've heard a bunch of cool features not present on the iPhone).

I'm looking at Half-Life and Half-Life 2 as possibilities, but I would skip the other stuff that comes with it. Not sure yet though.

Got the portal 2 and TF2 items. There isn't much else that I particularly want to get, though I'm going to get as many tickets as I can anyway.

Just bought garrys mod and all the half life 2 games
I really love this sale, gonna fill my account with games for all of the summer.

Sales like this are the reason I've somehow managed to amass 75 titles in about 2 years of being on steam.

Do note that about 4 of them are 5 chapter games, so that takes up a few of them.

At 6 tickets myself now, and got the portal 2 and TF2 rewards. Thinking about getting the Monday Night Combat reward in case I ever decide to buy that. Which I'm really not too sure of at this point. But otherwise I don't see anything on there that I think wouldn't be available later in a game I'd want to buy (at least in the immediate future).

Just bought the Assassins Creed Collectors Pack. Purchase went a little weird though so it took 10 minutes before it was processed on Steam while I had already paid. Scary as hell.

It's already sitting at $3.33, so I don't know if it would go any lower. And games have had achievements without having a sale day - Toki Tori is $1.25 for the entire sale and had an achievement the first day but hasn't had a sale day.

I got the SpaceChem DLC, Magicka DLC and Alien Breed 2 game since I had tickets left over. It's pretty nice of them to give away stuff for free. I'm having fun doing whatever achievements I can.
