Game streaming gonna be illegal?

Apparently, if this idiotic bill from Congress gets passed. Let me share an e-mail with you.

Here they go again: The big business lobbyists who are behind the Internet Blacklist Bill are already making a sequel. THIS WEEK Senators will be voting on a "Ten Strikes" bill to make it a felony to stream copyrighted content -- like music in the background of a Youtube video -- more than ten times.

As the writers at TechDirt point out, under this bill you could go to jail for posting video of your friends singing karaoke:

"The entertainment industry is freaking out about sites that embed and stream infringing content, and want law enforcement to put people in jail over it, rather than filing civil lawsuits.... We already pointed to one possibility: that people embedding YouTube videos could face five years in jail. Now, others are pointing out that it could also put kids who lip sync to popular songs, and post the resulting videos on YouTube, in jail as well."

That's right: Ten strikes and you could get jail time. Less than two weeks ago, the Hollywood industry magazine, Variety, reported, "Industry lobbyists pressed House members on Wednesday to pass legislation that would make illegal streaming of movies, TV shows and other types of content a felony...."

It's not just singers on YouTube being in danger here. The vague wording of the bill can make enforcement apply to gaming as well. All of the game-casting population from places like JustinTV, Ngame, Livestream, Ustream, and game LPers on YouTube are in danger. Heck, I'm in danger here, being a game-caster myself. ): Places like these will probably become ghost towns if this bill comes to pass.

Sometimes, I think the MPAA was made to legally rob children of their futures.

I often wonder how lawmakers come up with such useless laws. How many tax dollars do they intend to waste to regulate this? Doesn't America already have a mounting debt? That they can come up with this to screw citizens over instead of coming up with laws to help citizens is just wow.

That's how it goes in my country.If a bill passes jurists write it down specifying what can be considered an offence and what can't, or the specific punishment for each kind of offence.

Anyway, politicians are retarded. Mostly likely won't pass anyway.

I have my doubts that streaming or uploading gameplay is copyright infringement, with or without the bill. Is there any precedent?
