How to prevent ppl from buying...
#1
...your max mesos priced item in your store? Do you just need to have 1 mesos in your inventory or is it something like 50m because of the tade fee?

Selling a max meso+ item for the first time x3

You just need at least 1 meso in your inventory / shop to prevent people from buying items priced at max mesos. Although it wouldn't hurt to have more just as a precaution Tongue

I noticed some Mushie shops have items for Max and nothing else sold and when you try to buy it with max meso's it says the buyer doesn't have enough Meso's o_o

You can also put items up for 1 meso while holding the max amount in your inventory to prevent people from buying. I remember some guy did that with a pair of Face Stompers back when they were worth well over 100 mil (or something like that).

If they sold an item in their shop, then had max mesos when they tried to clean out their shop, it removes the sold item but leaves the mesos in the shop so they can put up more items and not need to sell something to make sure no one can buy their max mesos items.

Wouldn't that be the opposite? Your scenario is having max mesos already with an item at 1 meso, while the question seems to be about how much mesos you need to have in order for a max meso item not to sell/in order to sell an item for max mesos.

I'm not entirely sure on this, but I would imagine you'd need more than the tax amount (3% of max mesos) in order for it not to sell. No experience on this whatsoever, so don't take my word on it, but that's just what makes sense to me.

Yes, what I said was the oposite, but the OP's question was already answered. I just figured I'd state that there are other ways to keep an item from selling. I suppose I could have also mentioned that as long as the price of the item being sold, added together with the merchant's current amount of mesos, is greater than the maximum number of mesos, the merchant can have the item in his or her store without fear of it being sold to anyone.

If you set up an item for max mesos and another item for 1 meso, and the 1 meso item sells, no one can purchase the max mesos item.

/been there done that.

Edit: Personal recommendation; if you can spare it, sell something worth a couple mil for a mil to ensure no mistakes. My friend goofed on the pricing of his 21% dex clean cape and ended up selling it for 300 less than max, which would have been avoided had he put up an item for 1k or 10k or w/e instead of just 1 meso.

In a regular store permit, you require more mesos in your inventory than the shop tax is for a max mesos transaction (64,424,509 mesos). In a hired merchant 1 meso is sufficient. Get someone to buy the 1 meso item *before* you put up your max meso item, and don't "tidy up" the 1 meso purchase.

I don't have much personal experience with this as I defer to a hired merch for my needs. So thanks for the clarification. Smile

Confirming this. Store permits collect tax before transaction white hired merchants calculate taxed fees after, so you only need 1 meso in those situations.
