2011 Summer Update

Well, I was originally bent on making a Cannon Shooter, but after some consideration I think I might have to go with Demon Slayer so that I can add another Warrior to my collection. It also helps that I have tons of Warrior equipment lying around.

Oh yeah, and does anyone else think that this soundtrack would fit the Demon Slayers rather nicely (based on that short trailer at least)?

Cannon shooters artwork looks pretty cool.

Mercedes artwork looks awesome. She might be the best looking character in the game. I wish they had kept the trend from Aran and Evan, "Ilian" or "Idrian" or even "Iris" are way more fitting names. Maybe Mercedes is your job instructor and she picks a young elf as disciple?.

They need to shrink down her weapons a little.

Demon Slayer's look doesn't impress me at all. His hair already look a lot like the tristran haircut. I hope he give us some answers to what Gelimer objetives are.

He's that evil scientist who was doing some unknown experiments on that Vita girl at the start of the Resistance quest line. He also seemed to be making a chimera out of someone. They never went into what he was doing or what his goals were. Hell, they never even did anything with the Resistance besides make the player run a few arrends around the town for an old man.

Apparently the Black Mage's army killed the Demon Slayer's brother. He then tried to betray them but was almost killed. He thought he was dead, but then he woke up in Edelstein. He decided to join the Resistance to get revenge on the Black Mage.

Mercedes was frozen in ice, and her town was put into a deep sleep (I think). She has now awoken and wishes to keep her town safe and happy, so she decides to adventure and defeat the Black Mage. I think the tree has something to do with her/the town's curse, because there's a picture where three people are surrounding it and blue writing is lining the tree.

The art style is very similar to anime, and I wouldn't be surprised if that "girl" were actually just an extremely girly man.


On a more serious note, I really hope they pull out a good story and lots of story quests with this patch. It bugs the crap out of me that the Resistance, Cygnus, and Explorer classes have almost no story line despite all this crap going on with the Black Mage. I can understand Explorers not having any specific story line, but they could easily make more quest chains that tie together and make a story if the player decides to go and find them. The Resistance has like 4 quests that actually follow some sort of story, while the rest of them are just random "collect 50 of item X for a pat on the back" missions that don't actually add to the plot. The Cygnus Knights at least had that quest chain with the Puppeteer, but after that there aren't any story quests outside of the job advancements.

If they could give the Cannoneer and the Demon Slayer some good stories with lots of story quests, as in 1 story quest for every 5-6 levels, I'd be very happy. I already expect them to make a decent story and a good number of quests for the Legends, but Nexon never seems to do what I expect them to, so here's hoping they give a good story to Mercedes as well!

I think it was mentioned somewhere in the story that the Adventurers have the most prominent potential out of all the classes, legends included. It'd be cool to see story quests where the Adventurer travels and meets the legends, resistance, etc, and gets involved with the story.

Hmm...I hope they can actually use 1-Handed BWs then...There easy to make and scroll right now.

I wonder how the Mercedes weapon is going to look on an actual character. Dual crossbows would just look really crowded and awkward on a MS character, unless they can pull this off nicely.
