Age of Heroes v.99 Game Update 06.28.2011

Any idea if the pre patcher will still be valid? I've got it downloaded but I don't want to update until it's certain that it won't mess up the whole game.

You can only be "certain" after server-up.
Up until then they can always discover a bug that absolutely necessitates a client update, and therefore a new patch file.

Back up your MapleStory directory before applying the patch. That way, if they change the patch file, you can restore your v0.98 maple and apply the new patch to that.

I downloaded the v99 installer as well as the pre-patcher just in case.

The plot thickens. If they don't finish by about 10 or 15 minutes after 11:00 there will most likely be another extension.

In that case, the old patch you've already got will upgrade you to 0.99, and then you can apply the new patch.
The only problem with patching early is when they replace the 98to99 patch file, not when they add another mini-patch on top of it.

Phantom Blow is not even in the skillbook for DBs. I expected epic fuckupery, but really, Nexon?

The level 50 Evan still requires the skillbooks for all skill. Pretty pineappleing expected, Nexon. Also, or i'm really unlucky, or the free items you get are 3 under average on INT (shoes) and 4 under average in LUK, and 1 under average on INT (overall).

It's impressive, because the overall can go from 3-5 LUK, but ends up giving ZERO. Result? You wear a level 48 overall, a level 50 shoe, a level 25 bandana, and all of those give ZERO int. What a fabulous start!

Did the threshold for scrolled items colors change or something? Or is def/avoid/hp factored in differently now? I had several items go down in color-level

I think the default def for some items has changed, which makes your old items way-below-average now.

lol you need a lvl 10 skillbook from zak to get it :d
i was lucky to have one in my inv pre chaos and when i used it it added a phantom blow to my skills
