3DS discussion with Tokyo Gameshow Tidbits: Ace Vs. Layton
You lose the invite the moment you go to the mask shop and rent out the first mask anyway. Which, if you hadn't been following a guide,(or known better) you'd have to have gone back to hyrule castle town to buy a hylian shield (unless you stumbled across the one in the graveyard), and its assumed that you'd head back to hyrule castle town to do so, and most people bring the dude the mask he asked for when he gave you the invite anyway.

The game leads you along well enough on its own. And you were explicitly told by impa that zeldas lullaby is proof that you have relation to the royal family :/...

Quote:...you're not gonna get far into the game if you don't realise that Zelda's Lullaby = every time you see the royal symbol (triforce). It's used a lot in the game.
I don't think goron city has the triforce symbol anywhere when you need to use it.

Quote:Oh wow, that is the worst possible thing they overlooked. I remember it being an issue back in the day but there's no god damn excuse for it now.

After you beat the game, if you load up your save file... it loads up from the last time you saved, not some post-game or "sent back to before I beat the final dungeon" situation. I hadn't saved since before beating Twinrova when I beat it. Just loaded it up and lost SO MUCH STUFF. pineapple that. Probably never going to play this again because that's such a huge pineappleing oversight on their part.

Wow, really? I was sure mine saved, because I was in ganons tower and didn't rememeber doing it myself, I assumed it was done when the game goes through a save after the credits to unlock master quest >_>. That sucks.
Simple misconception.. now I know..

I didn't go back to Hyrule yet to bring that guy his mask, will do that now.

Not gonna follow a guide anymore anyways, only if I'm REALLY stuck. It's not a big deal X:<
I admit I've used a guide a bit because I'm a weak minded fool who's too lazy to scour around the entire overworld for Skulltulas and Heartpieces. I refuse to use a guide to open up a new dungeon/playing through a dungeon though.
Only time I've ever used a guide in LoZ, 100% purposes, and by that I mean all heart pieces / whatever other collection gimmick is in the game, if needed, but it's mostly just for all the heart pieces.

For me, the only times I used a guide was to get all masks on Majora's Mask (some of them I couldn't figure out WHEN to get them), triforce charts on Wind Waker (That sh*t was annoying without a guide) and the puzzel before the Master Sword on Twilight Princess (I suck ass at those types of puzzels).

The charts? Really? Even though the ocean is vast it's still pretty easy as long as you travel by night.

That said, I created a spreadsheet to make WW a little easier for me...

Yeah... my main problem with the game was I never bothered going around and buying the sea charts, so I didn't know where anything was. Then, I had no idea where to even start looking for the Triforce Charts. Hell, I wouldn't have even figured out the Ghost Ship one without a guide, because I had never run into it at that point in the game.

Edit : Lol... I just looked at the release date of Wind Waker. March 24th, 2003. I was twelve when I originally played through the game -- when I used the guide for that.

I was... probably 10 when I played through Majora's Mask (October 26th, 2000 -- I played through it entirely not too long after that). And then Twilight Princess... well... I still suck at that puzzle.
Oh god i was in dodongo cavern and got to the part where you shoot the eyes to put out the flames. Shot 1 and then ran out of seeds and couldnt shoot the other. Then i couldnt find any seeds and had to backtrack like 3 rooms :x

I don't think goron city has the triforce symbol anywhere when you need to use it.

When you want to speak to the king of the Gorons and you need to get into his room, there's a symbol on the floor.

Guys, a quick tip. If you think you need your ocarina, pop it open. If the music sheet is there, you're required to use it on that spot. If not, you don't need to.
Myles Wrote:When you want to speak to the king of the Gorons and you need to get into his room, there's a symbol on the floor.

No there isn't. There is a carpet on the floor (that is somehow plush enough to feel through through your boots!), nothing triforce related. At all.
pineapple pomegranate peachES. Reading through this thread I realized I forgot to get my CD. NOOOOOOOOOOOO MY OoT MUSIC! Sad

Anyway, I finished it a few days after it came out. All I know is that it is VERY VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE IT TO DEATH BECAUSE IT IS AN AMAZING GAME AS IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN.

@Lozmaster: You still use it anyway there, though. If you talk to the Goron next to him he says about the Royal Family's proof, so iunno.
...I know that. The point was myles said it always shows the triforce symbol when you need to use it. Which it doesn't.

And I maintain my position of OoT3D as dissapointment of the year for videogames(so far)
What the hell I'm seeing things.
Sort of unrelated to the 3DS (though not really since you could get a whopping 200 coins from it) but did anyone else get to platinum this year? I've been there for quite some time but wondering if anyone else has a platinum club nintendo account. I'm excited to find out what this years prize is! Last year's sculpture/trophy was badass.

I'm Platinum~

So I found all three symbols, got the Ocarina of Time, and am now adult Link searching through the Forest Temple.
I held my breath for each cutscene, they were amazing :')

You've got really low standards. Don't ever play a console game (save Wii) or you'll probably die of shock.

It's punchs first 3DS game, as well as the first time that punch has played ocarina of time. Looking good isn't the only thing that makes a cutscene. Yes, technically speaking, there isn't a whole lot going on in many of the cutscenes, but what did you think the first time you saw link pull the master sword out in 3d? (or insert other cutscene of your choice here).
That probably makes them more intresting.

ehhh. I still didn't think they were all that spectacular. The 3D was really subtle in the cutscenes as well.
