Cars 2 a flop?

It's got a 40% on rotten tomatoes- looks like Pixar has released its first critical failure.

The first Cars wasn't even that good compared to the rest of Pixar's films. Throw in a sequel and you got a recipe for disaster.

I actually really enjoyed the first one. Sure, it wasn't an "OMG this film is pure amazing!" like Toy Story or Wall-E, but still was entertaining. Doing a sequel though...I felt that both Cars and Kung Fu Panda were good movies in themselves. Adding on though...bleh. Unless I see them and am completely impressed, I'm grouping them with Shrek 3 and 4. :/

It does not matter. Box officer numbers matter. They give Green lantern a 26% and it raked in 53m over Super 8 which was a better movie.

First car was good might just dl the 2nd one

Pretty much agree with this.

Opinions.

They gave Avatar (Airbender) a single digit percent and it got 50 million. Gee, I wonder which one is correct.

Airbender wasn't a commercial flop. From a critic P.O.V.? Movie sucked hard.

Yeah, I figure it will still make enough money to warrant cars 3. But I feel like Pixar might actually care about critical response, unlike disney.

The first Cars was terrible enough that they felt they needed to remake this for some awful reason. Not wasting my money.

It's really a hit with small children - the money they make on merchandising alone is totally worth the sequel.

THINK OF THE CHILDREN.
