Attempting to get internet to DS
#1
My router is ethernet only so I can't directly use it to connect to nintendo WFC. Is there any sort of wireless adapter I can plug into my computer to emit enough signal for my DS to connect to it? Trying not to buy a new router incase it won't work cause the router is from my ISP. :|
["go somewhere where there's wireless :v" most of the places around here with free wireless require logons or are wpa2 locked and I can't use them ;3;]

That product has been discontinued for years and is not supported by Vista or Win 7. You need to get a wireless combo router (which is pretty cheap these days). You can plug the wireless router into your existing ISP router and just use it for your DS. It will work just fine.

The other thing you need to know about the USB dongle is that it has the WORST range. You have to be sitting next to your computer to get any signal. Even worse, it typically disconnects you if your computer pops up a screen saver. It's a very bad product. My buddy fought with his for months while we were playing Mario Kart Wii when it first came out. It was absolute suck.

Uuuh my screensaver is set to "never" so I wouldn't really have that problem. Since I never finished unpacking my laptop is on a TV tray at the moment with a cord going to the router ~3' behind me. Range isn't really a huge deal, I'm supposedly fucked out of Time Warner's "wireless" package anyways since I didn't ask for it.

Really all I need this for is the 5 minutes it takes to schuck a pokemon to and from the dream world, that's about it. :|

If that's the case then find a place in your town with non-secured wireless?
Shouldnt be too hard, or ask a friend?

Yes. This is not disaster; this is standard operating procedure. Plug the Internet port of the wireless router into any PC port on your wired router and it will work just fine.
