Dark Link Wrote:As far as I know, the 3DS "Master Quest" is just a port of the GCN CE "Master Quest", the only change they did to it was mirror the entire mode, which isn't original at all lol
Started playing master quest, and this is exactly what they did. At least as far as the end of the deku tree and going into hyrule field. No reason to assume anything at all changed.
Quote:Shard of Agony, Shiekh Stone, Master Quest and the stupid Boss thing
And of those the only thing that is actually new is the super guide Shiekh stones. The shard of agony is, I guess, but that was basically required to replace the stone of agony and a rumble pack shaped item wouldn't have made much sense (then again that didn't stop them for either of the GC versions...).
And you need to refight all the bosses in the boss refight mode again to unlock the boss rush, and it doesn't seem to include ganon(dorf) in the boss rushyness. I really couldn't be bothered to fight them all a third time. I know for sure you can't pick to fight him seperatly though.
It recording the times made me realise how hilariously short the boss battles are though, not looking at my times at the moment, but at least 5 of them took less than 1 minute, (barinade, twinrova and morpha I think took longer, but no more than 3 minutes for any of them)
There really is no new content at all.
Gonna 3 heart master quest and see if the game can actually kill me. I know I never lost 3 hearts on the main mode, but the double damage will certainly make it a close thing...probably.

Just caught an 18lbs fish
And the Water Temple is just as annoying as I remember. Can't figure out where to go.

They clarified the registration deadline and it now reads as 12:01 pdt on Tuesday, June 21st. So I technically should be able to get my CD. Going to call tomorrow to make sure.

IIRC the GC version is actually just emulating the N64 version, so that would be why they didn't change it.

Got to Bongo Bongo and died pretty fast. His attacks hit a f'ucking lot. Can't be bothered going through the Shadow Temple again so I've put my 3DS down for a bit.

I did, but I didn't get an e-mail asking for confirmation, or saying that the CD had been sent. There's also no order registered on my account for the CD.

Got my CD, was getting worried there. Supposedly, there was supposed to be a prompt when you register, so if anyone didn't get that, they should contact Nintendo right away.

Yeah, Nintendo's customer support has always been decent.
So, SP, overall rating on OoT3D?

I started registering all of my Nintendo products with Club Nintendo (Oh, my god... I have hundreds of games and these surveys are annoying...). However, I stumbled upon a page error. Is anyone else getting it? :X

Depends on how you look at it.
If you want to know how it is as a game: 8/10
If you want to know how it is as a port: 3/10
There's nothing special about it at all, really. That second score includes bonus points for the 3D. Good ports add something new to a game, which Grezzo failed on massively.

It's my first time playing Ocarina of Time..
I find that game absolutely beautiful, the storyline is great, and the game in general (action and what not) is pretty good too..
Plus, the game is kinda hard/confusing.. which is good/bad.. mostly good.

You should've done it on the N64. Took even longer because you had to bring up the menu every time you needed to switch boots/tunics/swords/shields any items.

You still do, technically.
